The room was a good size. The bathroom was clean. The bed was very comfortable. The fridge was well stocked. There was an iron and ironing board and hairdryer. We are in the restaurant and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. The hotel is very close to the centre of Dorchester with good parking at the rear of the property. It’s a five minute walk from an historic Roman Villa. There are coffee shops near by, with The Horse With The Red Umbrella being one of the best. This is a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. I would recommend staying at The Kings Arms and Dorchester as a great place to visit.

It’s a pretty hamlet, very close to stunning scenery, and lots of good walking. Dorchester is only a short drive, as is Weymouth. Abbotsbury is five minutes away as well as lots of other beautiful places to explore.
A very busy road runs through it, which is a shame. There are buses, but I suggest a car is easiest. Dorchester and Weymouth are both short drives away, lots of eating there. There’s a newly refurbished pub doing food in Winterborne Abbas itself.
