Good location for Windermere, excellent rooms with good beds and showers, use of the pool and sauna included - these were nice but a bit small for the number of people staying there, some good art work too

Went to stay over for a night as I had gone to attend a conference. The location is beautiful, although it's not adjacent to the lakes (the prices would also be accordingly then) but the lake is visible from a distance outside the hotel. I would love to have gone for a walk had it not been for the conference.
The room and washroom was very clean and tidy. They had provided desk fan, hair dryer, iron, iron board, complimentary tea/coffee/milk. The internet wifi was free for the residents.
The bed and pillows were very comfy.
I had booked my 8 am slot for breakfast where I was greeted by very hospitable staff who took my order and served a very delicious hot breakfast. I would love to stay over with my family one day (very soon). It also has free onsite parking.

The staff were great. The location and grounds are amazing. I felt that it was a good value for the price we paid. The bathroom was nice and modern. No separate taps!

Being a dog owner where we stayed it was obvious it was not first class, more like third class because of owning dogs. The bed was uncomfortable, the fan wasn't working in the bathroom. The room was like a box. The corridor outside our room was noisy I had to ask for the people to be quiet. Away from the room the area is fantastic shame about the room. A big disappointment

Windermere truly lives up to its reputation as a magical place. Nestled amidst picturesque landscapes, it feels like stepping into a storybook. The serene lake, rolling hills, and charming villages create an otherworldly atmosphere.
However, if I must point out a drawback, it would be the transportation situation. Getting to Windermere by train can be quite challenging. Delays, unexpected disruptions, and even outright train cancellations are not uncommon. My own journey was marred by a harrowing series of train mishaps before finally arriving. For travelers considering a trip here, I strongly advise paying extra attention to train schedules and potential disruptions.
Despite the transportation challenges, Windermere’s beauty is worth experiencing. Whether you’re strolling along the lakeshore or exploring the nearby countryside, it’s a place that leaves a lasting impression

The nature is awesome.
The nature is awesome. Some quaint towns like Ambleside are amazing but one should plan foe short walks like Rydal caves to Grasmere. The views are stunning. Windermere is excellent place to stay in Lake District and ine can then plan day trips from there.
Getting around even by public transport is convenient by buses just that plan it properly considering which outbound and inbound bus you should take.
Restelli Italia , Bondori Burrito were excellent Italian and Mexican restaurants.
We loved Bowness on Windermere, Keswick and Ambleside.

Love Windermere & have travelled to the area countless times for holidays & mini breaks, great location for exploring all that the Lake District offers. Would recommend staying in Windermere because it’s a great base & has every amenity necessary for a good holiday. We ate with friends on this visit but there are plenty of cafes & restaurants close by to meet most peoples needs.

Windermere was beautiful.
Windermere was beautiful.
We didn't realise before coming that down by the lake is classed as Bowness, which is much busier and touristy. So staying in Windermere really suited us as we could get down to the Lake easily enough, but liked being in a quieter location with some lovely independent places to eat.
It was a lovely clean room. Everything we needed. Nice spacious bathroom. They go the extra mile in their welcome pack, which has everything you need to know about the hotel facilities aswell as a long list of cafes and restaurants in Windermere. We met them at check in and check out, and they were lovely. Willing to do what they could to make our stay better. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
This is the best B&B we stayed in. The room was well appointed and very clean. Our host, Hilton, was very accommodating and gave some great advice on travelling around the area. Breakfast was great. There were several restaurants in walking distance and it wasn’t far to walk to Bowness on Windermere. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely stay at 1 Park Road.
Lovely hotel, rooms clean, good size and lovely and warm. Staff were great, special mention to the American barman, very helpful efficient and friendly.
Great place to stay with dogs, lots of outside space for them and they are allowed in the bar and restaurant. 15 min walk into Windermere, and on a good bus route to town and bowness.
Thankyou for a lovely stay from all of us!
The hosts were very friendly and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. The hotel itself was decorated beautifully and was very clean. The location was ideal for exploring Windermere and the wider Lakes area. The food was high quality and cooked to order and the selection was great. Having a parking space on site was an unexpected added bonus.
The breakfast was incredible, every day we had something different and each time it was brilliant. Also the location is perfect it’s so near to so many walks some of which are a short drive and some you can walk by starting at the hotel! It’s also only a 10 minute walk from both Windermere and Bowness on Windermere’s centres. Would recommend to everyone!
Having stayed there before, we knew it was a lovely hotel. Our room had a French door opening to a shared decked balcony and a small garden. Continental breakfast is great and a good variety to choose from. Room was spacious, bathroom was clean and had a great night sleep.
Great location, 10min drive to windermere Bowness. Onsite parking available.
Breakfast was great, staff super friendly. Room was very comfortable and clean. Hotel is around 10 min drive from Windermere (I wouldn't advise walking distance), parking is first come first serve basis. Check in was just picking your key up from the entrance and the little additions such a doggy poop bags and towels were such nice touches!!
Had 2 rooms booked at the hotel, Room 15 Double Room amd Room 17 Family Suite. Both rooms were lovely, Room 17 Family Suite was really spacious even with tje aofa bed made up. Location is excellent, just past the bars, shops of Windermere and 20 min walk to Bowness. Bus stops outside hotel. Breakfasts lovely especially the poached eggs :)
We had a patio that we could use from our room. The views were fantastic. Our room was very spacious, bigger than we expected. Bathroom was big. Lovely shower. We found everything to be clean & very comfortable.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel to family & friends.
Location is exceptional with super views of Lake Windermere. The older parts of the hotel are lovely - lots of warm wood in Arts and Crafts style. Our newer room (one of the “lodges” was comfortable and very spacious with a good en-suite bathroom. The little spa facility was nice. Breakfasts were ample and delicious.
The property was beautiful, comfortable and gorgeously landscaped. It was perfect to enjoy Windermere and Bowness, and a close walk to a large community park with great views. (Rayrigg Meadow). The hostess was so helpful and ensured all was easy to access. Above all, it was peaceful!
Beautiful building and in a lovely area.
Rooms are very outdated and definitely aren’t the type of hotel you go to for luxury. However, that being said this type of hotel is perfect for a short and sweet trip. It did the job and no complaints.
Breakfast was gorgeous, room was exceptionally clean and spacious. Bed was incredibly comfortable. Staff were great, Bar area was wonderful. The hotel is a perfect base for exploring windermere. Would definitely stay again.
Mark and Emma were friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was quality and delivered to our room. The property is situated between Windermere village and Bowness, an easy walk to both. Good on-site parking.
The hotel was in a beautiful location overlooking Lake Windermere. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough. The room was very well equipped with an incredibly comfortable bed.
Very nice hotel, great rooms with hot tubs, steam rooms, spa baths all very nice. Food was lovely and staff were brilliant. We really did enjoy our stay.
