Apartment was very spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped. Plenty of tea, coffee, milk and breakfast items. Apartment overlooks fields and is very light. My wife wanted to stay longer. A lovely place to stay, and Julie was very welcoming.

Good hotel, Excellent breakfast. Good dinner menu, though it is being simplified and is decent value.
We have stayed here a few times, as it is convenient - and they are having a tough time to keep ahead of the competition. The bar walls are used as something of an art gallery, and the offerings need to be changed (some are old, some are painted to a recipe, and some of the sculpture is not quite good enough - and the prices are aspirational).

I was only passing through and stayed one night just outside Wincanton.
I only had time for a short walk round the town but found a lovely independent cafe/delicatessant, 'Clementina', comfortabe with a warm welcome. I had a lovely coffee and almond croissant to warm up, and while in conversation with the ?owner, she only charged for my coffee as a birthday treat!!
This was a quiet Sunday morning in early December but would stop off again and be interested to see more of the town.

A great destination for those traversing the south of England, with very close proxmity to the A303. It is hospitable on weekdays but comes alive at weekends with 'pie night' and a good self-serve breakfast. Our room was warm and comfortable.

Wincanton itself is a small town which has most things you may need but is not a pretty town like other places in Dorset. The pub/hotel is not nearby to anything and is quote close to the A303, so a convenient place for a stop over when travelling.

It was a shame the shop (Terry Pratchett) was closed across road. Would have loved to visit - perhaps next time. Great butchers across road. Very quiet village, but we were visiting other places during day and didnt have time to look around much. Great farm shop and art gallery in Bruton. The Newt is close by and farm shops local. We ate at the dolphin hotel/pub, food good but when new restaurant opens in courtyard expect bigger menu. Wincanton is easy to get around. Would visit again as everyone so lovely and helpful at the Dolphin.

Apart from the Dolphin, which was excellent, we also had a meal and a few drinks down the road in Wincanton at the Nog Inn, which was also good. It was easy to walk around the town - fairly compact. One or two premises (e.g. hotels) were closed down.

The hot breakfast was great, and the cafe area is really nice and relaxing. We really liked the spa facilities and had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. The staff were always great and really helpful. The room was big and comfy with nice views, the hotel and grounds were stunning and made for a great little break. We visited Longlete Safari (less than 30min in the car) which was amazing, and we tried some local places for food and drink too, The Nog Inn and River Cale Cafe were a couple of favs with some of the best food!
Perfect for us in every way. Minutes from Bruton and Wincanton, with some fab restaurants recommended by our friendly hosts Fiona, James and their delightful girls. At The Chapel and Bell and Crown, were two highlights. Very clean, comfortable, with spacious living room and kitchen.
Lovely little goodies left for us, plenty of wood for the logburner and an extremely comfy bed. Idyllic location.
Hi, I went to Wincanton for a wedding 15 July, but owing to traffic had to race straight there. When the wedding finished I ordered a taxi to The Stags Head and phoned ahead a few times but there was no answer. I did not chance getting dropped off with nowhere to sleep.
Is a refund, either total or partial, possible?
