Ramada Encore Leicester City Centre, hotel in Wigston Magna

A 5 minute walk from Leicester Train Station and the shopping and restaurants of the city center, this hotel has free Wi-Fi throughout the property.

On arrival I had an unfortunate accident in the car park where my car overheated and I ended up scalded on both feet and had to go to Leicester Hospital for 3.5 hours. The hotel staff were very helpful then and over the four days we stayed there. I liked the relaxed atmosphere at the hotel, it's convenience to the city and the friendliness of staff.

Wigston has changed so much, I was born and bred there, so I have seen many changes over the years, coming back after 20 years made me feel sad, as most of what I remember has gone, I'm not a big fan of the changes, the area where we stayed, was land I used to play on as a child, far too many houses being built, far too much traffic, and, traffic calming, such a pity, but like most of the UK, its all going to pot, I see the Royal British legion that my father and uncles helped to start up, is now being sold off, the large house that is attached, was once a coaching house, the old skittle ally, which was the basement, had a beam with the initials SD carved in the wood, Sam Davenport a highway man who was caught and hung on Kilby Knob, I suppose it will all be demolished to make way for more houses, or some shop that isn't really needed

Wigston is a good place to visit, lots of shops and eateries. Travel out and you'll find some beautiful places to visit. Leicester itself is not a good place to visit, very run down, but the countryside is stunning. We have lived in this county for most of our lives, but moved away to North Wales so I come to Wigston to visit family.
