Lovely stay in a very clean, modern room. Exactly as described! The host was very helpful and instantly replied to calls/messages. Would definitely recommend this suite for your stay in Whitehaven.
Fantastic town steeped in history & tastefully restored...
Fantastic town steeped in history & tastefully restored harbour area completed to rightfully restore and celibrate the mining history. There are poignant reminders of how difficult life was for the mining community, especially those who died working in such harsh conditions. The area is very hilly & the mobility impaired would struggle in some areas.
There is a fabulous range of bars & cafes across the town and harbour areas and not just the usual ranges you see in most towns, there literally is something for everyone and most places are very pet & dog friendly too.
The people are wonderful, warm & welcoming, Cumbrian hospitality will humble you. If you like hills, astonishing scenery and an area steeped in local history, this is the place for you. Also, whitehaven is perfectly placed to use as a base to get to the fells and wider area. We live in rural Cambridgehire, so the hills, mountains & lakes are a thing of immense natural beauty and fills you with a sense of wonder at nature. It's almost impossible to describe adequately, but you will feel calmed and restored by this beautiful area. A tip would be to visit Whinlatter Forest & the visiotrs centre & cafe, we went there for the Parkrun and the panoramic views from this natural high point are otherworldly.
We are all different, but just go there and experience it. Reconnect with nature and fill your soul with the sweet crisp air, there is a deep peace to be found in the mountains and lakes.

Whitehaven is a rare town that holds on to its individuality (independent shops, small town feeling, wonderful location) without becoming a tourist hole. It is not expensive but offers high quality if you want it. Friendly and safe. Favourite bar is the Harbour Master with their own brand rum, and the Dixon's roof top cafe.

Whitehaven has amazing coastal paths, nice helpful and pleasant people everywhere. We were blown away by the National Trust places and the country side plus the short drive away to the Lake District. It is well worth the visit!

There are many beautiful buildings, though some are in need of TLC. Though the town felt a wee bit dilapidated in some places, presumably due to lack of funding, our overall impression was extremely positive.
People seemed really friendly, and very happy that we were interested in discovering their town. The Beacon Museum was very interesting, and walking along the cliff top was lovely (we could see Scotland, Ireland and the Isle of Man). They don't shy away from the tragic elements of their history - the colliery disasters that took so many lives.
We ate very well in the Vagabond pub and the Peddler restaurant, and bought some books in Michael Moon bookshop (definitely worth a visit)

Not a huge amount going on in Whitehaven but we found 2 great places to eat - Anna's Bar and Kitchen, and Akash Tandoori. We also did part of the C2C, traffic
free cycle route which is worth a go.

Very friendly people and great customer service.
Very friendly people and great customer service. Good choice of restaurants The harbour had a good continental vibe, when the sun was shinning. The town is making a good attempt to keep their heritage while at the same time modernising the harbour.
We ate at The Peddler, The Vagabond and Zest Harbourside. All were excellent. One night we had a fish and chip takeaway from Frasers., that was also excellent.
Whitehaven is near to the Lakes and the great beach of St. Bees. The cliff top walk from Whitehaven to St .Bees had fantastic views.

It was my first time coming to Cumbria and it was really lovely to stay here! Beautiful rooms, cozy, warm. Downstairs area with fireplace in particular beautiful! All staff mega helpful and went above and beyond when I was staying! And hotels dog even cuter! Little chunky boy ahha.
Food for dinner was amazing! Great and generous portion sizes! P.s. that crispy salt and pepper chicken was unreal! No idea how you make it so soft but omg!
This apartment style hotel is truly beautiful, the building itself is lovely inside and out and the rooms are so comfortable and clean, and its also in a great area as its right in the heart of whitehaven town centre, its one of the best places I have seen in whitehaven and the prices are very reasonable, I had a fantastic stay! And will definetly be back.
An excellent bed and breakfast which is highly recommended. I have stayed on multiple occasions and the welcome is always warm and the beds always comfortable. The B&B is close to the station and the town centre and has some excellent views over the harbour. Breakfast is tasty with a great range of options including homecooked breakfasts.
The view from the apartment was amazing, looking out over the marina.
The apartment itself was spotlessly clean, spacious, modern, and close to all amenities
I highly recommend this property if you're looking for somewhere to stay on Whitehaven, you won't be disappointed
I always try to stay at the Chase hotel when I'm in Whitehaven on business, sometimes they are full when I try to book but that's my problem not theirs. Always greeted by friendly staff, convenient for work site and the town
