Comfortable room. Breakfast was ok - as you would expect self service, kept on a hot plate. Bed reasonably comfortable.
Whiston Hall is set in scenic Staffordshire countryside, just a 10-minute drive from Alton Towers. The 19th-century hotel has a leafy golf course, a modern bar area and elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi.

The area was great for walking. Near to other attractions such as Alton towers, the peak district and the steam railway. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Food however was amazing. The best steak I have ever eaten. We had the sharing steak board. All cooked to perfection. The breakfast was perfect too.
Holiday Inn Express Stoke-On-Trent is just off junction 15 of the M6 and is a 10-minute drive from Stoke city centre.

Good value for money, nice and modern interior. I travelled by bicycle from the train station to the hotel at 9 pm in the dark so it was not pleasamt. The £95 for one night stay including breakfast is acceptable but the location is better suited for cars. The extra £45 cost is reflected by the location of Hilton in the city centre which is easier to reach by bicycle.
