The Royal Hotel is a charming Georgian building with its own extensive lawns that extend to Weston-super-Mare’s Promenade. It offers sea views, rooms with free Wi-Fi and a fine restaurant.

The best time to visit Weston really is in the summer as there is a lot to do on the beach and bus and train journeys if you don’t own a care to other local areas and out of Weston like Bristol, Taunton etc for day trips. I came in the winter as the carnival which starts in Bridgwater is amazing which you have to see it in person to appreciate it.

Granted I've only been to Weston twice and both times were a couple of days and almost the entirety was spent at the pier. I've never been past the right side of it.
I do recommend the mexican place as their food and cocktails are to die for.

I’ve been coming to Weston for over 30 years and love it.
I’ve been coming to Weston for over 30 years and love it. The beach is one of the best in the Uk, flat and very long. Lovely sand dunes up the one end. Ok the sea is not in at times but who swims in any sea’s around the Uk or abroad anymore. Ask the water companies why not. There are all the amenities on hand you could want and not at rip of prices. Some people criticise Weston but I’ve found they do not really know it at all. Some say it’s run down in parts. What part of the Uk is not run down. Most of Weston is lovely if you know where the hidden gems are. Lots of quality shopping in the surrounding retail parks. Quality parking at sensible costs unlike some rip off resorts in the Uk. I love it and always feel totally refreshed after a short or long stay. The thousands that visit year after year prove it cannot be bad. So easy to get to, M5 straight in. They are now doing major improvements to it including the old pier. To sum up, I love it and I’ve traveled the globe.

Like all British seaside towns, Weston is undergoing something of a struggle to keep itself in good repair. However, it has a bustle and air of normality that other resorts often do not achieve. The beach is very much in the Skegness variety - at lot of sand and wet sand before you get to the sea! A reasonable pier, not much in the way of entertainment other than the usual arcades but in good general repair and very useable. I didn't think the place was particularly aimed at children although there are donkey rides and the usual beach facilities. Have not tried the nightlife but it all seemed to close quite early. It is more of a daytime place than a nightspot. I could happily live there, though, it has a nice feel to it particularly on the outskirts.

The sea-front and beach is very pleasing, though many of the businesses seemed to be closed (probably because it was end-of-season). However, negotiating the spaghetti-like roads into and through the town was an absolute PAIN. Cameras seemed to be everywhere and it would be easy to fall foul of any one of them.

The weekend was lovely and sunny always helps.
The weekend was lovely and sunny always helps. The promenade was amazing wide flat and great for young children as well as older folks..Also very safe with a wall between both the cars and the beach.
A typical old English sea side town. Lots of fish and chips, and activities. Huge choice of restaurant and pubs and bars.

The room (no 8) was very spacious including the en-suite bathroom. The decor was modern and had lovely pictures on the wall.
Having breakfast delivered to the room was novel, but good, as it meant we did not have to be up and dressed at a specific time. The breakfast itself was plentiful and the owners were very accommodating when we asked for an extra sandwich portion.
Whilst the hotel was not on the seafront, it was within easy walking distance of the beach, restaurants and The Playhouse.
Situated very close to the seafront and near to town centre. The actual building is the same as most other small hotels but what sets it apart is that you can see it has been well looked after and very clean. The host Maria is very friendly and helpful. If I visit the area again, I would definitely stay at Bella Vista hotel.
The hotel is situated on the seafront. It has all the features of a traditional seaside hotel of the ‘Grand’ style. There is onsite parking which is important in high season (although there is a charge for this). The hotel was good value.
