Fantastic luxury establishment with personal friendly service. Certainly the grandest house and room we have stayed in in the 20 years we have been walking from place to place. Yes the rooms really are as big and fantastic as the pictures suggest.

From the minute we arrived the staff could not do enough for us. My husband is in a wheelchair and they did everything they could to make the hotel as accessible as possible. The food was lovely and plenty of it. Would definitely stay here again.

On arrival we were met by the owner who gave us a warm welcome. The rooms we booked were clean and comfortable. We felt like we were staying at a relatives house. The owners mum served us breakfast with a warm smile and nothing too much trouble. Both owner and mum made us feel very welcome. Beds are very comfortable and we all slept very well. We had the attic rooms which both rooms have ensuite. Wifi worked just fine and easy to connect. TV in room which worked just fine. Tea and coffee provided in the room. A property with lots of charm. Very peaceful location with beautiful surroundings, We will be back next time we are visiting the area.

The house has under floor heating, so lovely and warm for January and the views are amazing, you can walk from the house, but you can also drive to other walks.
A lovely getaway, to unwind, walk and then relax in the hot tub.
The house has a farmhouse feel, but with updated decor.we decided to cook while there and ordered a food shop to be delivered .

Located in the centre of Weardale this is a gem of a property and a stay we will remember for a long time. The proprietors are very friendly and make you feel welcome. The property has all the amenities and the food if dining in is delicious. Approx 40 mins from Hexham/Corbridge/Durham/Barnard Castle the scenery on the drives is spectacular.

We were impressed by the owners who provided friendly and attentive service throughout. Not our first choice but we were very pleased that we selected this accommodation and we intend to return again in the future. We were visiting the general area and not specifically Westgate so we found it very suitable for our needs visiting Durham and the general locality. We ate in the hotel as there was not any other hostelries close by unless prepared to drive but this proved to be a blessing in disguise.

This is a lovely house with amazing hosts, welcomed warmly on arrival and made to feel right at home.
Fresh milk for the room was greatly appreciated and the complimentary offerings were super.
I have to say the bed was outstanding and made for a great nights sleep by both of us.
Lastly they also serve great food at both the diner and the breakfast nothing was too much trouble.
The hosts Stuart and Kathryn did a fantastic job looking after me and my partner. As soon as we arrived we were warmly welcomed into Westgate Manor.
The rooms are very comfortable, with modern features.
The food is exceptional, we both really enjoyed breakfast and dinner. The local beers are really good where we actually visited the local brewery and bought a case of beer.
Stuart was very helpful in telling us about local attractions where to go and where not!
My hubby and I stayed overnight whilst house hunting.
Everything about it was perfect.
So relaxing and everything was of the best quality.
I have a bedding fetish, and always travel with my own bedding! (Sad but true).
The bedding at Westgate Manor was better than mine!
Our room was luxurious and lovely and cool.
Dinner was delicious.
The owners were fabulous.
Location was perfect.
I could go on and on…
I’d highly recommend this delightful hotel.
An immaculate, beautiful property. Could not fault Westgate Manor. A true gem nestled away. Very, very comfy beds, and we were very well looked after by the hosts Kathryn and Stewart. The food was outstanding, and I loved my alternative choice of breakfast. All food was made to order, so you need to pre-book and select your choice of food. Lovely grounds and very peaceful and relaxing. 10 out of 10 for us.
Amazingly friendly and welcoming. The hotel is immaculate and well kept throughout. The room was well equipped and very spacious. We slept very well and had a lovely breakfast. Were we planning to be in the area, we'd definitely stay again
