The Alverton is perched on the outskirts of Truro city center. A magnificent, grade II listed building steeped in history, boasting original architecture dating back to the nineteenth century.

We booked a garden view room near the main staircase which is a category we have stayed in previously. It was a spacious, comfortable room with 2 bathrooms, which was a nice surprise! One had a compact shower, loo, hand basin and heated towel rail and one had a bath, loo, bidet, hand basin and heated towel rail. Towels were large bath sheets and hand towels. There were towelling dressing gowns, slippers, a good hospitality tray including hot chocolate and shortbread. We have stayed here several times and its proximity to The Hall for Cornwall makes it very convenient when seeing a show, as well as shopping in the city. Staff are always very polite and friendly and both our evening meals and breakfast are always very good.
Our Great Little City is perfect for a weekend getaway in any season. Jump off the Train, or park in our FREE Gated Car Park here in the city center, in the shadow of Truro’s beautiful Cathedral.

Warmly welcomed and assisted, all staff highly motivated and dedicated, great breakfast buffet and menue card, location in center of town but nevertheless quiet. Thanks to all present staff on deck!

Every detail had been very carefully considered. From the design and decor to the quality of the breakfast options, this felt like a continental treat in a beautiful English city. Would highly recommend.

Neil and Kay were such gracious hosts. They kept their home up to beyond hotel standards. They made homemade breakfast every morning which was a great start to every day. They really seemed to understand the balance between being available and having conversations as well as staying out of the way to allow for privacy.

We used Truro as our place to stay while exploring Cornwall.
We used Truro as our place to stay while exploring Cornwall. There is so much to see in Cornwall in general, we did not give ourselves enough time in the area. Would have liked to have explored downtown Truro more, but spend most of our time exploring Cornwall. The Truro cathedral was beautiful and I am glad we took time to see it inside. We visited Port Isaac, old tin mines, Poldark locations, and the coast in general…..The Cornwall coast is simply amazing.

Good range of shops and the restaurants were very busy.
Good range of shops and the restaurants were very busy. It seems advisable to pre book at Pizza Express if in town on a Friday or Saturday night - it was very busy. The cathedral is a fantastic imposing building.

Plenty of good shops and the market was nice.
Plenty of good shops and the market was nice. Parking is a real issue as is the cobbled paths and open drains on the side of the road. Some areas which looked like they should be pedestrian were not. Not a good place for wheelchair users because of the cobbles. A lot of choice for eating or drinking.

Not often when booking accommodation that reality is better than the advertised photos! Secluded in a peaceful area the property was exceptionally clean with everything you needed. Your own personal parking space next to the entry gate was so convenient plus the outside seating area was an added bonus. Situated a short distance from Truro town centre it is close to all main road routes for each direction so perfectly located for touring Cornwall.
Perfect location for our evening out in Truro to visit the hall for Cornwall. The hotel was clean and comfortable and was beautiful. The staff were excellent from start to end of our stay and could not of been any more helpful.
Really liked the selection of luxury goodies in the bathroom and also the little jar of homemade biscuits, water bottle & drinks selection was a lovely touch.
Breakfast was great also,
The continental breakfast consisted of good quality food, with a good range l. The staff were very polite and helpful. Parking was round the back of the hotel and free. Very convenient for the Hall for Cornwall and the cathedral
