The hotel is set in Thornbury Castle, which has been refurbished to a very high quality whilst still maintaining the authenticity and feel of a building first constructed in 1511. The food served at both dinner and breakfast was of a very high quality and tasted fantastic! Every member of staff that we met were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and the customer care they provided really made our stay very special.

Thornbury is really well placed as a destination: easy to go over the bridge to Wales, or alternatively easy to get to Bristol. We ate in an Italian on the first night and this was fine, and an Indian on the second night and that was good as well.

One of the most beautiful and historic places you can stay not just in the UK but the world .
I have stayed in summertime when the gardens are blooming and in winter when the castle takes on its own ambience.
The staff are amazing and helpful , and the village of Thornbury is only a few minutes walk away .
Every time I am in the South West this is my go to place .
Could not recommend enough.

If you want to treat yourself and be treated like a king/queen, stay here. The castle and grounds are magical, historical, beautiful, lavish, and extremely classy. The room we stayed in was huge yet charming and seriously classy. The personnel are amazing, just SO nice and friendly, not the least bit stuffy. Can't go wrong with a stay here, loved it!!!!

I was actually in Oldbury on Severn which is lovely English village. It has a community shop which was open in the Sunday and where I bought some lovely local eggs and cards by a local artist. Lots of other local goodies were available. They also offer beverages and cakes.

Beautiful scenery looking across the Thornbury landscape amidst the wild flowers and the wedding swing was a great hit. This historic building has been elegantly adapted to cater for modern guests. The clubhouse was spotless. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was delicious and an easy walk to the quaint Thornbury village.
So many activities for families to do around Thornbury - Cattle country & Wolfridge Alpaca farm were a great hit. The T1 bus to Bristol conveniently left from the end of the Estate's driveway.
Our one stay exceeded our expectations. The hotel setting was fantastic and both the dinner and breakfast were of a very high quality. Above all else, every member of staff that we met were extremely helpful and very welcoming. A great trip, which I would definitely recommend to others.
