The hotel is in a lovely setting. The man running the bar was very friendly and so was the lovely young lady who served breakfast on the first day. They did try and sort the problem with the cleanliness of our room whilst we were out.

Peckforton Castle, hotel in Tarporley

Situated in Tarporley, 22 km from Chester Racecourse, Peckforton Castle features accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

We loved the approach and especially all the Pheasant's running around. The car park "in the woods". The atmosphere. Walking across the bridge and through the gates, into the grounds of the Castle. The gorgeous Chapel, would have loved to go inside. We loved wandering around inside the Castle. All the gorgeous stair cases, everywhere. We had a cheeky peak in to the "wedding" that was taking place. Gorgeous. Our room was amazing, Clotton 111. Just wish we had a room overlooking the inside grounds, all lit up at night.

We arrived to a welcoming reception area.

We arrived to a welcoming reception area. Michel offered to take our bags to the room, he’s an asset to the Hall. The young man serving breakfast was polite and friendly too. Many thanks for a comfortable , overnight stay.

Fabulous hotel and location. Rooms immaculately clean.

Fabulous hotel and location. Rooms immaculately clean. 2 uncomfortable mattresses pushed together leaving a “valley “ in the middle. Tv didn’t pick up signal . Terrible WiFi . Room service never turned up after 2 phone calls I had to go downstairs myself. Breakfast passable but no one in charge , small portions, tea and coffee in flasks , no orange, no bowls, workman on ladder in middle of food area. Complete lack of management.

Beautiful setting , good size room, comfy bed, swimming pool was nice, friendly staff. Bit disappointed with continental breakfast, only one choice of juice, toaster didn’t toast evenly, tea wasn’t given in pots of tea but waitress brought it round which meant it wasn’t hot also very strong.. the cooked breakfast would probably be better but I can’t comment on that.

The town is beautiful and full of lovely boutique shops.

The town is beautiful and full of lovely boutique shops. There are convenient grocery shops, hairdressers and salons. There is also a post office and cash machine in the centre. I visited for a family wedding so didn’t have a lot of time to explore, but I would love to stay again and go shopping!

Room was in a very tasteful barn conversion.

Room was in a very tasteful barn conversion. Very spacious and comfortable - a good night’s sleep was easily achieved. Was a little difficult to find a first as is located down a narrow country lane. But due to this the location was idyllic - the view from the window was of a lovely meadow. We were only there for one night due to our schedule, but would happily have stayed longer if need be. Would certainly return if we are in the area again.

We booked this beautiful accommodation on behalf of our daughter, who was visiting from Spain for the first time in 6 years. She had many happy memories of the area growing up in Tarporley and often walked in the area as a young girl. The welcome she received, together with the kindness of the hosts, David and Karin made her return very special and memorable. She was also very pleased with the welcome provisions provided. Views of the surrounding country side were excellent!

Pheasant Cottage is the perfect little home away from home. Every little detail was taken care of before our arrival and during our stay we had a few little requests which the host kindly helped with. The decor and facilities were very modern, the view gorgeous rolling countrysides and we would not hesitate to stay there again if we were in the Cheshire area.
