Beautiful location and outlook, if a little out of town.
Good to have secure bikeshed with power for our ebikes, though access (with heavy bikes) a little awkward up steps.

Tarbert is a nice town to stay in - for me, it is a stop-over for the ferry to Islay. It would be a good base for exploring the area. A pretty harbour, beautifully maintained area around the castle (views and little woodland walks), pleasant walk to East Loch, cafes and a co-op.

Tarbert is a wonderful, welcoming village with great amenities and friendly local folk - it's a real community.
The views over the harbour and out over the Loch
are stunning.
The Moorings is a wonderful B&B which I highly recommend.
The Anchorage Bistro is an amazing wee restaurant which again is a must but do book to avoid disappointment
Plenty of free parking in the village and the ferry to Portavadie provides an alternative option to the road journey

Tarbert is a nice place, Knap house spoilt it for us, the room and bathroom were ok, but there was no cleaning of room, no automatic cleaning of room, regardless of how long you stayed your room was only cleaned when you left. There was half a toilet roll in the bathroom which had obviously been used by someone else.

A lovely place, a lovely area.
A lovely place, a lovely area. Great service and food options from The Deli, overlooking the harbour. The evening meal at The Starfish was ok, but the organisation, attention to detail and service wasn’t ok.

Tarbert is a lovely little town with plenty of shops for food and other supplies, without being a busy shopping centre. There are great walks around the area, and if you can travel a bit there are loads of places to visit, or you could just sit and watch the world go by in the harbour!
West Loch Shore, Tarbert, is the best possible location for exploring Kintyre - Tarbert is a lovely village, with everything you could need, and the Lodge was ideal for us. Clean, spacious, and well equipped. We had a really comfortable stay, and loved how peaceful it was. Arrival was smooth, staff were friendly and helpful and we had everything we needed. The view over the Loch is just lovely. A brilliant spot for a getaway as a couple or as a family.
We stayed at the moorings as we had a wedding nearby at Crear. The moorings is in the perfect location in Tarbert overlooking the harbour yet far enough away that you can’t hear the main street in the evening. Andrew was an excellent host, his house is very clean and the bed was super comfortable. He makes a mean breakfast in the morning which I would highly recommend.
Something a little bit different on an ex working sea-barge moored on Tarbert quayside Large well-appointed en-suite room with full facilities.Great view of harbour.Adjacent to cafes, restaurants and shops.Quite a continental feel.
The location is right at the harbour in the centre of Tarbert, a lovely place, with great views. Communication with the owner excellent, and he was very helpful. I'd definitely go back there, and would highly recommend.
