What a little gem!
Tucked away, so very quiet, Julie was lovely and very helpful, calling us a taxi for our early flight.
Breakfast was plentiful, which we ate the night before as we wouldn’t eat at 3 am lol.

We were here for 6 hours just to get sleep before an early morning flight out of Stanstead airport. We liked the quiet atmosphere, and slept well.

the building clearly was an old farm house lovely room but the bathroom needed some TLC The room was spacious lots of light in the room fairly clean the window was left open to air the room I understand. But because of this being on a main road everything had dust and flys in coffee cups skirting boards dresser. heater left in the room was great as this worked.

decent hotel, good location, room quiet, good breakfast (but no orange juice!).
We arrived for 1 night stay , nobody there as we arrived
We arrived for 1 night stay , nobody there as we arrived
Key was in key box and did not work , we went into the pub to ask for help to be told it was nothing to do with them but she would try to contact someone, a man came and finally opened our room and to say we were disappointed was an understatement , tiny , dark , dirty , soap dispensers were empty , bedding smelled
We had to sleep with door unlocked in case we couldn't get out again ! Looked like door had been kicked previously.

I was DISGUSTED to find out that my cousin, who drove 5 hours to drop us off at Takeley, was fined 100 pounds for "So Called Parking" at the hotel. He stayed long enough to stretch his legs and plan his trip back home. He was there a maximum of 5 to 10 minutes. This IS NOT how you treat guests who are dropped off. What was he supposed to do PARK IN THE STREET!!!! I Apart from things not working In our first room and we had to be changed, then we find out about this BS fine. There was no mention of parking fines on booking.com. I would NOT recommend this hotel and its money making scheme to anyone. You would NEVER be treated like this in Australia. We welcome tourists not fine their drivers. Extremely disappointed !!!! When someone goes out of their way to make sure we arrived safely and then are treated like this it makes me sick.

Very reasonable price for overnight stay and car parking.
Very reasonable price for overnight stay and car parking. Excellent location with a bus stop across the road, for the short trip to the airport. Worth noting if you have a late return flight the last bus is 23.15 so be prepared to get a taxi back. Not our first stay so was aware of the Four Ashes pub across the road that served good food. Unfortunatley we didn't realise they close on Sunday evening so need to arrive before 6 pm if you want food in there. Fortunately there was a list to other food options in the room and a short drive away there is a Tesco Express and an Italian takeaway. Caretaker very pleasant and checked out we had everything we needed for our overnight stay.

Avoid if you value your health and safety.
Avoid if you value your health and safety. This property is being mis sold. It doesn't even have fully functioning electric, no fridge, black mould, disgusting shower heads, filthy. Avoid had no electric to charge phone or for medical equipment. Place is a death trap. They have no idea about disability access, you can't even get in the rooms with a wheelchair never mind get into bed or use the shower and toilet

friendly and informative welcome by the landlady; good beds and perfect breakfast; coffee, thea and chocolate facilities in the room. free parking.
a convenient base for us, from which we could visit our son and grandchildren in Little Canfield.
The location of the hotel was amazing, it was very quiet but everything we needed was within a short driving distance. The hosts were lovely, very friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was immaculate. When we arrived, there was a personal welcome message for us which we felt was subtle but very welcoming and much appreciated.
i forgot my passport so i had to return home i tried to cancel the room but it was probably too late used the hotel mainly as it was the cheapest car parking option, car was safe but they had attached a car jack and chain to my car to make sure i paid on my return, the accomodation was of less than our expected standard
We loved our stay – the room was comfortable and warm. The self-service breakfast was just perfect, as we had a very early checkout. The location is great, the pub down the street is very welcoming, and the fish and chips in Takeley are excellent. Can definitely recommend this location.
