Very clean and welcoming. I stayed here several years ago when it first opened. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it still looked new. The room was very comfortable, if slightly too cool for my needs.

Close to A1M though a bit farther out of York than we wanted but a straightforward 20m drive there almost direct to a car park. Could have used convenient park and ride. Lovely welcome by owners. Super interesting history, people and grounds. Lovely traditional house, room and breakfast. Hosts offered tea/coffee & cake when we arrived and when we came in the next night at 'no added charge'. It's also nice & close to Tadcaster which is great for John Smith fans!!
If I was ever to back to Tadcaster.....I'd stay here. Not just because it's the only place on booking.com but it's a super trailer. All I needed was a big dog, pickup and crushed cans of budweisser and I'd be in a road movie. The inside is like the tardis in size rather than modernity. The trailer kept us snug as bug whilst Storm Darren or something raged on outside. The pub is great, friendly staff and locals and good beer. Slept like a log.

hotel and surroundings were also very nice lovely walks al around.
Cosy and comfy accommodation. A great welcome and enough breakfast for double the number of people! Will definitely use the Jackdaw next time I visit family in Tadcaster
