Ok for a cheap overnight stay to break the journey up.
Ok for a cheap overnight stay to break the journey up. Easy access to motorway to continue journey. Clean and pleasant basic room, Evening meal was well cooked hot and tasty, but breakfast was very busy due to a coach party all coming down to breakfast at once.Lovely selection of breakfast items but the cooked could be warmer. In fairness it probably was when the started just with so many people taking /)eating lids off it got cold!

Swindon is great for being a central base with lots of choices (so many!) for pubs, breakfast, coffee, dinner, nightlife, while making day trips to explore the Cotswolds, Stonehenge, Oxford, Bath, Marlborough, horseback riding, hiking, and charming villages of Wiltshire. Multiple buses from all directions stop there, as does the National Express coach service from Heathrow, plus there's the train and taxis.
Old Town is the place to stay to get the most out of your visit. Closer to the train station there are some vacant properties and it's a bit rougher around the edges.

I really liked Swindon. I traveled by train.
I really liked Swindon. I traveled by train. Train was on time, it was clean, kept informed of where we were, easy to get tickets, all simple no probs. If you wanted to travel by bus it’s a stone throw away from the train station. A short walk to the city centre. Plenty of shops to spend your money in. Plenty of place to eat. I sat in cafe and had a jacket potato and a tea £10 bargin! All good. Would definitely return.

We didn't have time to explore very much on a one night trip, but we were impressed with the cycle infrastructure and the variety of restaurants and pubs, though some areas of the town were a little run down and shady.
The bigWe rode through Lydiard park and were very impressed with it as a nice destination. Seemed like a lovely place to go with friends and family for a picnic and a walk or to jog or cycle around.

I used to live in Swindon and there are parts to avoid, ann the bottom of town isn't what it used to be, but for a great night out, there is Old Town. For country walks there is Lydiard Park and Coate Water. The surrounding villages and towns and close to the Cotswolds, Swindon is great for a central point
Amazing apartment in a new complex! Clean and pacious with all household utilities, utensils and furniture. Perfectly located 1.5 mils from old town centre. Sufficient bars and restaurants nearby.
Owners were very helpful with commicatiion and sorting out any additional requests.
Definitely visit again!

Very comfortable and spacious, lovely light with nice views over the town, and all the amenities we needed. Location was ideal, very central with good bus and train connections and a short walk to the town centre. Really enjoyed our stay, thanks so much! We'd definitely stay again if we came back to Swindon!
Simple modern decor, large bed, options of pillows, blackout curtains, not noisy. Our room seemed to be for disabled, so bathroom was very large. Hotel is close to the train station and town centre, and was also short walk to our car rental place.
