The view out the window to the Bannockburn battle site was beautiful. The Scottish breakfast was very good. It was a cold night and the heater wasn't working, but the staff went out of their way to bring us extra blankets.
Built in 1854, this hotel was once the High School of Stirling. Less than 10 minutes’ walk from the city’s historic castle, it has an AA Rosette-awarded restaurant and free parking.

Stirling is a truly stunning city steeped in history and culture.
It is walkable but very cold especially in the autumn and winter do wrap up.
The castle and surrounds grounds are a must, as is wallace monument.
Kings park provides a lovely walk and you’ll be spoiled for choice with cafes and restaurants etc.
Dumyat is also a great wee hill to hike if you’re feeling more adventurous.

Only stayed 1 night but plenty of historical sites to visit & decent city centre including large shopping centre. The locals all seemed friendly enough & everything within walking distance of the train station. The walk to the castle is a fairly steep uphill climb so you have been warned

Stirling is a lovely town in the heart of Scotland - we have family there so have done most of the local things before like the William Wallace Monument (definitely worth but isn't free anymore!). We enjoyed day trips to in the Trossachs National Park. We enjoyed Loch Katrine (can hire cycles and ride round 22km in stunning scenery) and Inchmahome Prior in Lake Monteith (the only Lake not Loch in Scotland). Loch Lomond is over rated but that's a personal opinion. We also went to St Andrews and down the coast on the way back to Stirling although this is a longer drive but we enjoyed it (approx 3 hours round trip). Had a nice lunch in The Ship, Elie by the harbour.

There are so many great historical places in and around Stirling that really fill up a day. The castle is very interesting and then going to Bannockburn battle field ,the Falkirk Wheel ,and the Kelpies ate up a whole day. All worth visiting. For me the only drawback is my 78 year old legs took a beating going up and down Stirling hill. The Wallace monument was very informative and has a very narrow circular staircase inside.

Centrally based for our purpose...there are lots of attractions within short distance from out apartment.
We did a Park and Tram to Edinburgh...so much easier than trying to find parking in Edinburgh.
Scone Palace was amazing!
We went on a mini cruise on Lock Katrine..beautiful drive to the Trossachs. A must stop is Trossachs Woollen Mills where you can see Highland Coos.

A city rich with Scottish history, good food and drink, creativity and spectacular sights. Easy and cheap to rent a bike and explore the area. Great walks - head out to the Wallace monument, then meander along the river. Have a drink at the Stirling Distillery on the way up to the castle - and check out the view at sunset!
It's really nice hotel. Big, fancy and just in the middle of city centre. Room was big, clean - with really comfy beds, even the bathtub was there! So, it was so nice to take a bath after long day walking around the Stirling. Tasty breakfast with a wide range of food (sausages, beans, mushrooms, eggs, fruit, toast,...) and drinks (different types of coffees, juices etc..). Like I wrote, location is fantastic - close to shopping centre, bus and train station, and it's just below the castle.
Very comfortable, cosy house. Every need catered for. Lovely garden. Extremely comfy beds. Good location within easy reach of Stirling city centre and places of interest. Lots of booklets etc provided on Scotland and a comprehensive guide to Stirling and the accomodation rules. Welcome basket with breakfast essentials a really lovely touch.
The location of the hotel is very central in the old town of Stirling. It’s close to all restaurants and walking distance to the castle and the old bridge.
The apartment is spacious and nicely fitted. And there is parking area at the back of the property which is very convenient for those who drive.
The Stirling Court Hotel had plenty of parking and the staff were very friendly and efficient. it is right next to the Wallace Monument and is within walking distance of the Stirling town centre. it was comfy and cosy and certainly did the job!
