Southend which is about a 20 minute walk from the cottage is a very quiet sleepy village with one central store that has an amazing tearoom selling fantastic cakes.
For a busier place you would need to head up to Campbeltown which has a high street, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants and is 8 miles from the cottage.

There are some historic places to visit as well as a couple of lovely beaches to walk along or risk a paddle in the sea .
Local Seal population is healthy and like to sunbathe on rocks at Tourist Parking area.
You MUST try the Muneroy Tea Rooms on the village, their range of cakes is amazing as are the portions. The Tea Room itself is a step back in time to a more relaxed and peaceful time where you can sit and enjoy good food and company.
If you do fancy a bit of adventure and seeing a bit of the area off road then there is a local Horse Riding facility - Wilder Ways, they will happily arrange for you to get out in the local area on horseback for even better views of the countryside.
