We had an early check in and the room was perfectly clean and ready for us. The breakfast was everything you could want and the staff are not only very efficient but very friendly. This is the 5th time we have stayed in The George.

Breakfast was very good. Adjustments to the list of options were undertaken by the hosts if at all possible.
With SECURE PARKING and the location just off the main street there was plenty to do within walking distance.
If we did need our vehicle, arrangements could be made at breakfast time and host's mobile number enabled guests to keep in touch.
Very handy for touring North Devon and Exmoor.

Well appointed , very clean bedroom. Friendly staff.
Good English breakfast. The view looked out over the campsite but beyond that you could see the trees by the river.

The room was very spacious and the shower excellent. The kitchen and pub itself is what makes staying here fantastic however; you won’t find better traditional pub food in a more homely environment with friendlier staff.

I saw small ducks in the yard, thought they are toys, but they are real!

South Molton felt very safe, quiet and friendly. Nice shops just wish they had been open longer and on Sundays. Easy access to things such as other towns for days out. Lovely to have a butchers and cheese shop and sweet shop, aswell as convenience stores.

South Molton is a small, attractive Devon town with a twice-weekly covered market selling all kinds of goods and crafts. The town is well-served by supermarkets and quirky shops, along with several restaurants and cafes - one of them being the outstanding "Rachel's", offering great food and bakery items.

A well established Devon market town.
A well established Devon market town. Lively Pannier market, many quality eating places, small enough to get around on foot over a day. Very handy for touring North Devon beaches, towns and Exmoor countryside.

A beautiful location, if you want peace and exploring the outdoors then it was great, lots of places to take your dog. We recommend the Black Venus Inn, Challacombe for food only 30 mins from South Molton and the Exmoor Pony Centre, Dulverton again not far for an educational and fun experience for adults and children, all money raised goes towards the charity and looking after the horses. Thank you to the staff at the Pony Centre who made the day very special for my two girls and clearly had a lot of knowledge and passion for the horses. We had lovely sunshine so were very lucky on our time in South Molton, we explored Exmoor and got to see the ponies in the wild and didn't have to rely much on indoor entertainment but there are other places to visit if not so lucky with the sun but these places we did visit and do highly recommend.

South Molton is a busy market town with quirky shops, a supermarket, an everyday local store and many great eateries too! There is an interesting, regular market with food, antiques, several bric-a-brac stalls, art of many kinds, books, plants and much more. This "pannier" market is held under cover near to the George. The town is also well-placed for lots of visitor attractions, including a fascinating Bee Centre and the RHS Rosemoor Garden Centre, both of which have great menus.
Very clean property, located near the centre of South Molton. We had an exceptionally large bedroom and en suite, both of which were spotless . John was a friendly and helpful host, throughout our 5 night stay. Only small negative was the town itself, which had few good eating places... not really a problem though as we were using the B and B as a base and found some good pubs in the near vicinity One of the best cooked breakfasts ....... we would definitely consider a return
This was our first stay in the area and the cottage was just right. Large rooms, Bathroom huge! Every comfort has been provided. The sofas were super comfy too. The new owners (since July last year) have obviously put their heart and souls into providing a relaxed comfortable cottage. We were really impressed with South Molton, especially the Saturday and Thursday Pannier market, an absoulte must visit, livestock market on Thursdays too!
Every detail of the stay had been thought out, exceptionally clean and well maintained properly and room. From the bed side lights being controlled by switches on the wall for ease, to the immaculate presentation of breakfast. I couldn’t fault anything. Its rare to come across a property where it is evident that the owners and staff take such pride in the hotel and service.
This was my third stay at this property in Paradise Lawn South Molton. As always, it was spotlessly clean, warm, bright and comfortable. I especially like the bathroom, which is spacious with a large walk-in shower and delightful bath. There's a downstairs loo in case anyone is lingering in the bath! The location is great, near to a variety of shops and cafes.
Great central location to South Molton and Devon. The facilities were excellent and everything was very clean. We appreciated the host leaving us breakfast.
