Beautiful location and building, full of character. Staff are amazing, very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. Lovely room and bathroom, lovely bed linens and towels. Everything lovely and clean. Nice homemade biscuits, nespresso coffee machine. Dog bed, towels and treats left for our dog. There were some noises during the night, but the hotel warned us of this as the buildings are so old. The noises weren’t too bad and we managed to sleep well.
Situated within the picturesque Northumbrian countryside, Rye Hill Farm sits within 30 acres of grounds and offers free off-road parking.

It was beautiful, room was perfectly spacious as we brought our foster dog and crate for her to sleep in. Room was spotless and everything had been thought of! Location was beautiful and peaceful but not too far away from villages and towns. Host was amazing, such a lovely lady!
Breakfast was fab!! Nice cold choice and lovely hot food too!! Will definitely stay again when we come up that way, it’s perfect!

A very pleasant short stay, lovely room even though only a standard room, comfy beds although quilt too heavy for me, nice furniture and drapes. Not impressed in the dining room the vacated tables weren't cleared very quickly. Been before possibly will come again.

Overly expensive, shabby rooms, ridiculous bar prices and staffing is poor and mainly 18yr olds. Location is good and nice grounds. We are elsewhere every evening and found much nicer places for half the cost of the food there

Slaley's claim to fame was that it was the longest linear village in England. It was a lead and coal mining area so It is never going to be a tourist hotspot. But it is genuine and friendly (if the crowd in the Rose & Crown were anything to go by). It is in pleasant countryside and it is conveniently sited between Roman Corbridge and NT Gibside/ Beamish area , so it has a great location

First impression was very good, lovely, impressive building and great grounds with short walks. A great location for golfers but maybe a bit remote for tourists wanting to do some sight seeing in the area.
Staff were polite and welcoming. However some staff at breakfast were a bit casual in the clearing of tables and attention to detail. I asked for porridge one morning and my order was completely forgotten.
We found restaurant/bar prices to be over inflated. As a result we chose to eat our evening meal in Hexham, Corbridge or the local pub in Slaley village where they greeted us warmly.

We booked a special break away in Slalely Hall after recommendations from family and friends. Although the grounds and indeed the hotel are impressive there are quite a few little details which are missing and this makes one think they are overpaying somewhat in terms of price.
Whilst the staff are friendly and helpful in most cases in the restaurants the service is extremely slow. We had to wait sometime for our meal to be served and were given drinks after the actual meal was placed in front of us. We then enjoyed a nice meal at the Restaurant but had to wait over 30 minutes merely to pay despite trying to get the attention of staff. In the end four tables were forced to line up to pay for their meal, surely if staff had cleared plates and been attentive they could have offered coffee and further drinks from a business perspective. The lack of service just seemed to leave a negative memory from what was a pretty good meal. Food-wise the claret and jug menu was limited, and over-priced; indeed the price of a burger was the same as one in the more 'upmarket' restaurant. Note to all - avoid the chips at the claret and jug - cold and tasteless.
Room-wise the room was nice and spacious with a superb view; furniture was tired in places but the cleaning staff here were brilliant and like most of the staff we met friendly.
The Spa was not as you would assume from a Hotel and Spa venue - it was a little more Centre Parcs rather than tranquil, regenerative, escape. Families and children and minimal loungers - again for the price you are paying you expect a little more from your experience. All in all a venue with a big reputation which perhaps is missing the finer details, service; cleanliness and quality.

This is our second stay in as many months.
This is our second stay in as many months. The first we found the place looking very dated, tired, grubby in areas which shouldn't be and quite a lot of shabby damaged furniture and the toilets next to the restaurant being out of commission (resulting in a long walk to the nearest ones). On the recent stay most of this furniture in the bar had been replaced which improved the appearance. The main problem on this stay was lack of sleep due to a dog in the neighbouring room. Long periods of unanswered calls to the front desk meant we just had to put up with it. At over £200 a night it's a bit of an insult not expecting a decent sleep. I think we'll be looking elsewhere in future.

Our second time staying here. A lovely place to wind down after our honey moon, and a couple days to spend with our dog. The Slaley forest is right on its door step and is a lovely walk!
The site is quiet, and relaxing. The caravan is clean, and has everything you need.
We did bring our own Amazon stick to plug into the TV if you’re wanting to watch films or anything
Really lovely property and will definitely stay again in the future - our dog loved the rabbit watching 🐇
Lovely comfortable property with all the mod cons needed for a short break. Located in a quiet part of a small park with beautiful surrounding woodland walks. The hot tub once warmed up was an added bonus and great fun. The onsite staff were helpful and friendly and the towns of Hexham and Corbridge a 15 minute drive away. The community pub the Rose and Crown in Slaley was tremendous value for money and along with this property very dog friendly.
Had an amazing stay at Slaley. Comfortable rooms, amazing surroundings and nice restaurants. The staff are mostly all fairly young but are so professional and are a credit to this hotel! Had dinner at the Claret and Jug, very nice watching the sun set enjoying a drink and a meal!
Lovely warm welcome. Staff are always available to help make your stay comfortable. The hotel was quiet and relaxed. The hotel and grounds were spotless. There is so much to see in the area and the trees in autumn were beautiful.
The bed was very comfortable however our room had twin beds in which we did know about but we asked the hotel to put them together to make a double bed
