    Lovely seaside town.

Lovely seaside town. Great for promenade by the sea and it has nice streets too. Fish and chips of course. Great walk on the both ends of the bunch: one goes to the picturesque hill another one with garden and cafe. Nice little shops.

Having been several times, we absolutely love this coast line…it has just about everything for both a grown up family (as my wife and our young adult children will attest) and young families and couples alike. There is plenty to explore, it is easy to walk around, with glorious views to the adjoining headlands, and whilst the beaches are predominantly pebbles, there is also plenty of sand to be found and the water quality is good. The town is well worth a visit, with its eclectic shops and cafes.

    Liked it all.

Liked it all. Weather was against us on one day, then brilliant the next day but cold. After all it is winter. Easy walking along promenade and in the town and plenty of coffee shops. Good walks all around.

Our hotel, The Riviera, was excellent as the staff were fantastic which was the icing on the cake, but we also liked the town with interesting little shops. In addition we enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the gardens on the cliff top It was wonderful to look out at the sea with all the people doing different activities from surfing, swimming, boating as well as parascending and just having good family fun. One evening we went for a meal in a pub close to Sidmouth and again the people were friendly and accommodating. All in all we had a great time and definitely plan to go to Sidmouth again.

Sidmouth is great for elderly travellers.

Sidmouth is great for elderly travellers. It has a unique charm. Busy during the day but dead after 7.00pm. Little to attract younger travellers. Would recommend the Swan Inn for reasonably priced food, friendly service and a good menu choice

The hotel was clean and the staff were very welcoming. The location was perfect. We had a small balcony which was good for our 2 small dogs. The bedroom and bathroom are a very good size. The breakfast and evening meal was excellent. This is a gem in Sidmouth. We were able to park next to the room. The grounds are lovely and they lead on to the park and river.

Probably the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. The food was superb, cannot fault it. We hadn’t intended to eat at the hotel for our evening meals but so glad we did. Probably done if the best food available in Sidmouth.
