A beautiful b&b with a lovely breakfast. Hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The room we stayed in was in its own separate building so felt private. Bathroom was gorgeous, beds were comfy - overall perfect for our stay!

Bells Meadow Shepherds Hut, hotel in Shouldham Thorpe

Located in Kings Lynn, Bells Meadow Shepherds Hut has accommodation 28 km from Castle Rising Castle. A microwave and toaster are also available, as well as a kettle.

We liked everything at the stay. The caravan was big enough for 2 of us, there's a fridge, a microwave and kettle and some cutlery etc so any coffee or a meal is easily done. You can also wash up in the outdoor sink outside the shower hut. It has modern fully equipped shower room that is warm and clean only 10 seconds away, with warm water and spacious shower. When you get bored or the weather is bad there are some board games to pass time. Early morning or late evening you may be lucky and see a family of deer or rabbits.

Chalk & Cheese is in the village of Shouldham, and not in Shouldham Thorpe, which is nearby. The village has a lovely traditional "green" with a bench seat surrounding a large tree, an old red phone box (still working) and it appears that there were originally two pubs. One, The Rampant Horse is now a private dwelling. Opposite, the Kings Arms is run as a community pub by the villagers. Chalk & Cheese is owned by the proprietors of the adjacent antique and gifts business. In the village there is a post office, but no shop. At least two houses sell fresh eggs by the roadside. There is a social and bowls club, a village hall and a lovely church overlooking the village from a hill. There is also a playing field with goalposts for football and some childrens' play apparatus. We spoke to two or three locals around the green, who were very welcoming. There is a classic car meet on the green on the first Sunday of the month during the summer.

The thought and originality invested in the comfort and convenience of the accomodation was outstanding and the hosts were attentive, communicative and helpful. We enjoyed a pleasant evening at The Kings Arms and had our stay been longer, would undoubtedly have found other equally agreeable places to eat and drink.
