Easy to walk around, visit the cathedral, etc. The open air market in the main square had a really good variety of fresh fruit and veg. Lots of choices for dining. Friendly people. Interesting architecture and history.

Salisbury is a pretty and really interesting historical city. We loved exploring it. The cathedral and close were lovely at night, so quiet and still with lit up trees. What a lovely surprise! We loved our visit and we're looking forward to coming back.

We live here and were using the hotel over Christmas to facilitate a large family gathering. Salisbury is great for visitors and it is easy to get around. Central parking is good. The new River Park due completion in summer 2025 will be lovely riverside walk as is Queen Elizabeth Gardens. Visiting the Cathedral and Magna Carta is a must and a walk around The Close brings you to NT properties and Museums - all well worth visiting. Salisbury Market on Tuesdays and Saturdays offers local colour and many stalls and in the summer there are activities in the Market Square. Quite a few independent shops. Try the “Her Salisbury Story” tourist trail for an interesting walk around the city. Lots of places to eat both chain and independents and good coffee shops. The Playhouse Theatre puts on good productions and there are two cinemas. Salisbury is well placed for days out to other places - Stonehenge, Bath , Shaftesbury, Mottisfont , Winchester and the coast.

Our first visit in Winter.
Our first visit in Winter. Fine city, with plenty of history and shopping to keep most people happy. A good base for visiting Stonehenge and Avebury etc. The Christmas market was a complete joke though, despite the write-up's on the web, which greatly exagerated the size and quality.

We just stayed overnight & only had time for a awonderful dinner at Allium & short wander around the market in the morning. It had an excellent range of stalls, many with lovely fresh local produce. So many beautiful buildings. No time to visit the cathedral this time but will definitely be back for a longer stay!

The room was spacious and comfortable with all expected facilities. The additional mini-kitchen was a nice extra bonus.
We were also very grateful that our hosts accommodated our request for an early breakfast too.
The hotel is in a beautiful location within close proximity to the city centre, with a beautiful walk to get you there.
Hotel was as described. Good location in city centre. Room was clean and warm, staff very pleasant. Self service breakfast was very good. We reserved and paid for a parking space in hotel car park but there is a big municipal car park just around the corner. Good value for this part of the UK
Location with parking next to the river was great, Very nice short walk to Cathedral and city centre.
We stayed in the old part of the hotel and our friends in the newer part. Both rooms were good.
