Pedn-Olva, hotel in St Ives

Overlooking the Celtic Sea and St Ives Bay, Pedn-Olva offers elegant rooms with magnificent views. With a near beach and spacious terrace, there is also a popular restaurant.

Great hotel on the rocks and great views. Great location to walk to the beaches and around St Ives. The hotel itself is quite outdated - but I understand that they are planning a major renovation soon. My room was lovely and spacious and had lovely views of the sea. The bed was very comfortable. The hot breakfast options were good. The fruit in the cold selection would run out quite quickly (but I did turn up around 9.30am - so perhaps earlier customers had better selection). The day menu is ok - there are better places to have lighter meals. The staff are all really helpful and friendly. I emailed a couple of times before my stay to check on parking etc, and they were very responsive.

St Ives has a beautiful broad bay of yellow sands which stretches way into the distance. Great beaches for families and water sports. The town is very hilly, with few restaurants. Most are on the long boardwalk beside the beach. Difficult to get to Tate st Ives if you are elderly or in a wheelchair. As an artist I was disappointed with the collection on view. Very busy August bank holiday weekend.

Very scenic with plenty of local restaurants . Parking can be an issue. Good access to public transport trains, buses, taxis. Would have liked to have seen more restaurants with references to the fishing and pirate days as their themes

St Ives itself is very busy and can be a little on the expensive side but if you plan accordingly then you'll be absolutely fine. All surrounding beaches are absolutely beautiful. Penzance is another beautiful place to visit and lands end is a shirt drive and definitely worth a visit. The lighthouse Still works in st ives so if you've never seen one lit before it's definitely worth a watch. The old cemetery in st ives is fascinating and has some incredible headstones with many dating right back to the late 1800s. There's an old gun stand from the war against napoleon and so much other history in such a small town!

    Quaint town with marvellous beaches.

Quaint town with marvellous beaches. But the small streets and congestion of traffic is a big drawback. Nearly impossible to drive in and out easily and parking is very difficult. There is an impression that the town council are not inviting as there are little road signs and street names plus you can get horribly lost in the town that is very steep and busy, busy, busy. It would be best to stay in the town if possible and walk everywhere, or to stay outside and travel in by bus or train (yes - a good thought but we never tried it).

Could walk easily to reach everywhere .. picturesque views .

Could walk easily to reach everywhere .. picturesque views .. good for surfing and families .. facilities, including eating places, all easily accessible. Railway station and town centre easily accessible with good bus and taxi services. Not very car friendly as very narrow streets .. better to walk around St Ives .. hence our decision to travel by train to St Ives.

It's a beautiful place. Beaches are great and lovely coastal town. Lots of restaurants and food options. It's a bit hilly once you go past the front, but lots of shops and beautiful galleries. Lovely day out in summer!

It’s in a stunning location Carbis Bay not far from St Ives, walk to the end of the street & their are buses that take you into St Ives in 5 mins. The room was small but the bed very comfortable & spacious bathroom. The breakfast was delicious & plenty of choice. The host’s are very friendly & suggested lots of attractions to visit in the area. I recommend this B & B when visiting Cornwall.

Excellent location to reach all the beaches and town without using a car. Good location for parking on island carpark and with a rover pass worked out much cheaper for a week with the added bonus of being able to use most long stay carparks throughout Cornwall. Lovely feel about the cottage and good space for 4 adults and 2 children, nice seaside decor throughout the cottage.
