Talardy, St Asaph by Marston’s Inns, hotel in St Asaph

Talardy Hotel by Marston’s Inns offers attractive en suite accommodation in St Asaph, North Wales.

Staff were great. All very polite and very helpful. Sean in particular was always on hand. He was always, chirpy, chatty and nothing seemed too much trouble for him. Good food available till 9pm. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Not much to do in St Asaph, Rhyl is not meant to be very nice so we didn’t visit. Colwyn bay and castle is short drive away (20 mins). For visiting cities, Snowdon and beaches good location. But if more interested in activities around Snowdon and Anglesey closer to Colwyn probably better

We would have loved to stay longer and would definitely go back. If we didnt give an “excellent” rating for location or services it’s only because we weren’t there long enough to actually explore these. The room was excellent as was the host.

Great communication from owners ahead of the booking.

Great communication from owners ahead of the booking. The cottage was well furnished, clean and met all our expectations. A well priced little holiday location, we would very much recommend to others.

    The main house is lovely.

The main house is lovely. We stayed in the annexe, which isn't as cosy, but the facilities worked just right. The restaurant and pub are just beautiful and feel welcoming and cosy. And all staff were very friendly. Great if you have a car and need parking, as it has a big outside space. Very close to a major road which is great for access but not too close that you hear the noise from the motorway.

The Cathedral is worth visiting; there is a river walk with parking close by. The High St is narrow for traffic, so walking is a good option, about 10 minutes from the hotel. Two ancient castles (Rhuddlan and Denbigh) are each approximately 5 miles away, and the nearest coastline at Rhyl is approximately 9 miles.

Stay if one night en route to an appointment.

Stay if one night en route to an appointment. For a 4 star accommodation this place does NOT fit the bill. On arrival staff attitude unfriendly and unhelpful. We we're NOT ADVISED when we booked that breakfast had to be booked, even though it was included. All bathrooms dirty. Was offered other room but bathrooms in same state as other. Another staff member, very friendly and helpful person, tried to clean the mould but unfortunately to no avail. Shower rose appeared to have rust marks on it. Bathrooms are in SERIOUS NEED of cleaning, regrouping and sealing. It was too late to find alternative accommodation otherwise we would have stayed somewhere else. Tea cups at breakfast were dirty with tea stains and rings in them. Needless to say we didn't have tea. We thought we were coming to 4 star accommodation with a spa and pool. We were not offered or told what was open. We also decided not to bother due to the dirt in the bathrooms. One would expect places to be EXTRA CLEAN due to covid regulations nevermind a supposed 4 Star hotel..

I had seen a couple of negative reviews so I was a bit concerned but I definitely shouldn't have been. I don't have anything negative to say about this hotel, in fact just the opposite. I booked a family room which was huge and very clean. The hotel is extremely dog friendly with everything in the room catering for your dogs. Treats, bowls and mats and poo bags. The beds even have doggy duvet covers! We had a lovely evening meal and couldn't fault anything. Would most definitely stay again!

Lovely location about 2 miles from St Asaph. Large garden which the kids loved, with stunning views over the countryside. Very quiet and peaceful. Plenty of room for our group of 10 with a well equipped kitchen.
