I paid £56 for this room and got what I expected in regards too the room and cleanliness. But the staff set it apart as nothing is too much trouble. Friendly and welcoming and will certainly be back.
The location is ideal, just as you get off the ferry with railway links just across the road

Very nice property that is close to the fast cat ferry service. The room was very comfortable and the bath was very accessible. Despite not having 24 hour desk service, the staff were readily available and the site was easy to enter after hours with your key. I slept very well and feel the bed was comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Dining was easy and the food was good. Nothing "Michelin", but flavourful and filling, with the typical selection for Pub food. Breakfast was very good with the offer of fruit, cereal, yogurt and breads in addition to your hot breakfast. There is a lift so access isn't too much of an issue, although not sure if specific entrances for those with mobility issues to enter the site.

The trains and ferry were frequent and close by.The public transport buses to every part of the island were right on the doorstep and easy to locate. The pubs cafes and restaurants were many and reasonably priced . For a foot passenger with bike I found that Ryde was the easiest to use coming from Portsmouth and have used the whitelink many times. Being a senior the ferry was discounted the buses were free and the trains were cheaper with railcard .All in all Sunny Ryde Up !. Next time I will avoid Storm Bert.

Short birthday weekend break.
Short birthday weekend break. Highly recommend restaurant called Crazy’s in Ryde for special occasion, good quality dining. Also visited Festival cafe on Union St for enjoyable hot chocolate and cake at their window seat and watched the world go by. Friendly staff. Lots of shops but many closed on a Sunday. Traffic wardens very visible.
Fabulous sandy beach. Good public transport. Old fashioned seaside town. No modern retail outlets. Mainly boutiques. Peaceful out of season. Heaving in season. Not many places to park for free (except Union St after 6pm). You can purchase 3 day, weekend and weekly parking passes on the esplanade parking meters and they are good value instead of paying daily charge. Please note you have to park in the same row of parking bays. Not transferable. Check out Isle of Wight Guru page for helpful information about Ryde.

The street Yelfs hotel is in is possibly the busiest and most central street in Ryde and convenient for restaurants.
Of course you do have the noise of the Hovercraft and very noticeable in the hotel.

Traditional seaside resort.
Traditional seaside resort. The pubs were rough and ready but friendly.
Great place to stay with easy access to other parts of the island via an excellent bus service.
The journey to the ferry terminal is difficult due to the suspension of the rail service.
So for some this would require a taxi.

Enjoyed Ryde very much the walk along the front is lovely nice view on a nice day of Portsmouth. The beach is very good and clean and there are sufficient toilet facilities. The public transport in Ryde is excellent and all parts of the island are easily reached. There are lots of shops but no big names, eating out was good there was plenty of choice available. Over all we enjoyed our stay very much.

Our second stay with Great Hosts . Beautifully decorated and clean and fresh. We were lucky to have lovely weather too, and the sea view from the balcony was a bonus . Everything we needed and a delicious fresh cake baked for our arrival and lots of extras we weren't expecting.
The bed was so comfy. The location again was great. All local amenities and close to shops bars and restaurants. We enjoyed a lovely meal at the castle hotel. Would highly recommend. And will definitely be returning ourselves!
The rooms look like they have been upgraded but the hotel still needs a lot of work to gain 4 stars.
The outside grounds are amazing but areas like the decking just need a yearly paint.
The tall windows haven’t been cleaned for a very long time and many cobwebs, spiders and flys.
The staff were excellent and very accommodating and friendly even though they were understaffed due to Covid. The hotel was kept clean and tidy and well placed in Ryde. We enjoyed our stay and Mark the deputy manager was excellent.
I had a ticket to the Isle of Wight festival and spent the night. The staff at the hotel were so helpful and accommodating. The room was a bit expensive but the staff, location and breakfast really made up for this.
Dorset Hotel , It was so lovely and quite, Breakfast was lovely , With a choice of breakfasts, My room was compact, A large double bed and a shower, Good. Staff were very helpful . And location, Excellent.
