This place is really nice! Great view with comfortable porch and great hot tub. Comfortable bed with lots of pillows. Good water pressure and hot water. Every little detail and extras in the house. Good WiFi. Was on the high side for cost but was really worth it. Had the BBQ for 2 people which was a great value but no way the 2 of us could eat it all recommended ordering one serving unless you can eat a lot of food. Not sure how you could miss it almost trip over the sign while walking the GGW. Yes it is up a gravel hill but if you are hiking the GGW it’s no big deal. It’s about a 13 mile hike from Ft Williams

Everything! The grounds were beautiful and peaceful, a wonderful place to take in a lovely sunset. The owners were kind and incredibly helpful. They went above and beyond to help us with dinner reservations and to ensure we were comfortable. The accommodations were fantastic. The rooms were gorgeous! Probably one of the most aesthetic rooms we’ve ever stayed in. Finally, the food! Absolutely delicious! We each had different breakfasts and everything was fantastic. Hot, flavorful and perfect portion sizes! Try the whiskey porridge, it was amazing!! If you are in the area, make sure to stay here!

Roybridge is a good base for exploring or walking. Also on a train line for those on public transport (not sure of timetable as we didn't use.
We didn't eat in the pub but recommend those in Fort William for atmosphere as well as good food.

Great location for access to local mountains.
Great location for access to local mountains. Our trip was based around climbing Ben Nevis and given that Torlundy car park is only 15 minute drive from here it was perfect. Don't expect too much of a town here though.. Fort william is your best bet for bars and groceries.

The location was perfect for us, mid-way between Skye and Fife. It is a beautiful location only 10 miles from Fort William which was en route for us the following day. The village has a couple of inns / small hotels serving food in their bars (only until 8pm when we were there - a Friday evening). There’s also a direct train to London Euston - the sleeper - if you want to have a holiday of extremes!

Roybridge was a hidden gem, approached by a steep, winding mountain road and a revelation of natural beauty. Why go abroad when there is so much beauty and peace to be experienced in our home country?

Roybridge is a small village in the highlands of Scotland,...
Roybridge is a small village in the highlands of Scotland, roughly 20/25mins north of Fort William. There are two pubs, one is dog friendly. However, the Roybridge Hotel [dog friendly hotel] did not make us feel welcome when we arrived for an evening meal. The food was acceptable but the atmosphere was not. We opted to do our own catering at our self-catered cabin. There is a SPAR shop at the next village [Speanbridge] where you can buy most items fresh/tins etc.
The area is outstandingly beautiful. The location allows ease of access to a lot of visits within the highlands, for example Loch Ness is an hour away, Nevis ski gondola 15 mins away etc.
If you go self-catered there are other supermarkets in Fort William and in Fort William you can access the Jacobite steam train which travels across the Glenfinnan viaduct [as seen in Harry Potter] twice going to and from Mallaig. Skye is accessible within a 2hour 30min drive [to Portree] or you could drive to Mallaig and get the ferry across to Armadale.

Clean room with modern decor.
Clean room with modern decor. The room was not a “deluxe” which we had booked. Very small bedroom such that with two suitcases it was hard to walk around the bed. Shower room was impractical as ridiculously small.

Val and Stuart could not have been more helpful. They gave us lots of tips and ideas for restaurants and safe cycling trails and allowed us to keep and charge our e-bikes in their garage. The location near Roybridge, is convenient for touring the area and a 15 minute drive to Glen Nevis, to climb Ben Nevis. The apartment was comfortable, spacious and bright, and had every convenience including a lovely balcony with excellent views.
Spacious and clean room with comfortable beds. Overall everything looked like new. Breakfast is served in a central room and included everything we could wish for. Very friendly host! Location is good within walking distance of two restaurants in Roybridge.
Our stay met our expectations, the welcome was warm, the room and beds were good and the dinner and breakfast in the hotel were excellent. This hotel is recommended for anyone who wants to book an overnight stay or a stay in the area.
Our stay at Birchbank was really nice. The hosts were really kind and welcoming. The place itself was spotlessly clean and cosy. The property is ideally situated in Roybridge and close to many attractions in the highlands.
Locally there was a Cafe for Breakfast / Lunch and a Hotel for evening Dinner, both outrageously expensive. My tip to anyone would be to bring your own food and cook it yourself.
