On the banks of Loch Lomond in the magnificent Queen Elizabeth Forest, this hotel has spectacular views of Ben Lomond, the loch and mountains to the north. Rowardennan Hotel is accessible, yet remote....

We booked this as a last minute deal and were not disappointed. We booked an executive room and paid a little more for this room type and it is certainly worth the upgrade. The view was to die for. Truly spectacular. An unobscured view from the room and from the balcony out onto Loch Lomond. The room was extremely well appointed and the bed was super comfy. The hotel had plenty of parking and was easy to find. The food was exceptional and the choice of beverages at the bar was sufficient, but not extensive. We dined in the evening and had breakfast and I had the Haggis, needs and tatties in the evening which was amazing and I had the full English for breakfast which was superb too. The location of the hotel was spot on - we were about a 3 minute walk into the village of Luss, which is really picturesque and well worth a visit, especially the view from the pier and the quaint gift shops. There is truly nothing, not to like about this hotel. I would stay again in a heart beat.

We could walk everywhere from the Cottage. To have our own spacious off road parking space in Luss is a real bonus for off loading luggage etc. It is a very peaceful cottage - no road noise at all. We didn't cook in the property but it seemed to have everything you could possibly need. We would definitely stay here again.
Rowardennan is at the end of a road. It has access to Ben Lomond for hill walkers and is part of the West Highland Way route. Apart from that there is nothing there except the hotel and water sports from what we could see!

The location was stunning.
The location was stunning. The hostel was clean and well equipped. Plenty of parking and the staff were always really helpful. Would highly recommend staying at the hostel. Would definitely re visit. Perfect location for what we wanted as we it was our plan to climb Ben Lomond ~ once we climbed it, it was perfect as we got to cool down in the loch afterwards. The hostel has its own private beach area and a jetty to swim from

The views from every room, including the two conservatories were amazing. Our dog sat in the conservatory watching Sheep TV for hours. So happy it was dog friendly.
All of the amenities were modern and plentiful, especially the kitchen.
So stylish. Lots of hand made and interesting pieces around the villa. Gorgeous.

Hotel situated in a fabulous location overlooking the Loch...
Hotel situated in a fabulous location overlooking the Loch Lomand. Secluded and quiet - good for hiking & nature walks. Good water sport facilities by an outside company. The stand up paddle boarding was never available on the 2 occasions we wanted to do it. Ideally it would have been good if the hotel gave a discount and made arrangements for reservation options at the time of check in. Menu was unfortunately limited, but some of the food was good.

A beautiful location with a basic but clean hotel.
A beautiful location with a basic but clean hotel.
The staff were great and friendly . Food was nice but limited in choice, not great if you’re looking for a healthy meal. We were here for 2 nights so that wasn’t an issue.
The play area was ideal for our 3 year old with little cars and trikes available.
The range of water activities are good but book before you go by calling 03335770715 to avoid disappointment.

Accommodation was superb and the pub 100 yards away.
Accommodation was superb and the pub 100 yards away. The lodge is very near the start of the Ben Lomond path so we were able to start and finish at the lodge which was a major reason for booking this property.

The best thing about this youth hostel is the staff - very helpful and friendly!
Good location on the WHW. Not that there's much competition in Rowardennan...
Staff took care of washing and drying my laundry. At first I thought 9£ was rather expensive, but it's actually pretty normal for WHW.
Oh yeah and the building really DOES look nice (even though the pouring rain made it hard to appreciate it).
The location was fantastic, right on the loch with beach and jetty which the kids loved jumping off. The lodge beds were comfortable, it was spacious, dishwasher and washing machine were new as were the bathrooms. The staff from the hotel were great and sorted out any problems- and even gave us a complimentary meal which was great.
Fantastic location, quiet but with a hotel next to the site. Lots of wildlife and good walking. Within easy drive of a some beautiful sites such as the RSBP reserve.
The hotel is in a great location for walking the West Highland Way and the rooms are nice and clean, although you need to get a room to the front of the hotel.
