Beautiful hotel. The room was beautifully appointed. Fabulous restaurant, bar and staff on site. Stewart went out of his way for us every chance. We arrived later and he made sure we got into the restaurant before closing. Breakfast options were great. They had a wonderful vegan breakfast including haggis that was very tasty.

The facilities are nice. The breakfast offering is good, my partner and I are vegan so the veggie haggis is a nice option. Would be excellent if they had vegan batter for the awesome pancake machine! The reception area and bar with the complimentary water and tourists information is lovely. The rooms are modern and comfortable and the shower / bathroom facilities are great with a lovely selection of cleaning products. The heated mirror is awesome! The location is a short walk to everything especially the castle which is 10mins walk!

If you don’t mind walking + don’t want to pay the premium prices to stay on the royal mile…this location is perfect! We were a 15-35 minute walk away from almost every place we wanted to go! Plus there are a lot of fun food/beverage spots right near the Valentine - we loved The Colony Cafe and TukTuk. Accommodations were as advertised - clean room, comfortable bed..etc. Everyone at the front desk was super helpful and it was nice having someone there when we had questions.
This 3-star guest house offers warm, stylish rooms with private bathrooms and flat-screen TVs. Edinburgh’s historic center is just 5 minutes’ drive away.

From the freshly baked bread that we were greeted with to the warm welcome we received, the whole stay was amazing. So much space as we have a young baby, this really helped.
The hosts Dave & Irene make the accommodation what it is. The attention to detail is second to none. A beautifully styled and homely place to stay. Would recommend to anyone.
So clean and fresh.
Thank you for a lovely stay. David & Natalie Jackson

It was a beautiful place.
It was a beautiful place. It has everything you need to be comfortable and more! We really enjoyed our stay. The bus stop to Edinburgh was just a few steps from the place and for a few pounds it took us directly to the Royal Mile. We left the car at the property. The owner is great. He gave us information about the country, advises, maps, etc. The property is perfect and it has thoughtful things to make your stay pleasant.

What a wonderful atmospheric chapel.
What a wonderful atmospheric chapel. And the grounds were amazing too. We had a talk from a local lady who had lots of detailed descriptions of how the chapel came to be erected - and the stories surrounding the people who owned it, or worked there, or were apprenticed there.
The site has a great Visitor Centre, with a varied selection of goodies to buy as mementos of our visit. They also have a cafe selling a range of snacks, breakfasts, brunches and lunches., hot and cold drinks. Super place, extraordinary chapel, interesting grounds and helpful, pleasent staff. I wouldn't say no to a repeat visit if we happen to be in the area again. 5 star+ experience.

I can highly recommend Templar loft. It was a 10\10 for us.
I can highly recommend Templar loft. It was a 10\10 for us. I found it on booking.com and would absolutely return to visit this area again with my husband. This trip was with my 15 ur old daughter and we found it perfect. The bus 37 is right outside and takes you right into Edinburgh. There is a quaint little coffee attached too.

I took an OS guided walk along the river valley on a beautiful summer's evening. Peaceful and beautiful.
Once in the city of Edinburgh, it shows itself well as a European capital, busy, historic and plenty to see and do.
We ate at the local restaurant Cibo which was a very traditional UK Italian restaurant, senior clientele but very good food; the sauce base and break base authentic - they should focus on their traditional items, though.

Super village, beautiful walks, lovely dog friendly pub (...
Super village, beautiful walks, lovely dog friendly pub (Original Rosslyn Inn), Dollys Tea room and Old Chapel Guest House and of course the chapel. Nice little shop for gifts and cards, a convenience shop that sells everything and is open to 9pm. Big shout out to Noble Beauty! love the sort of consortium of folks and different treatment types (reflexology, Reikki, Sports massage, hair, nails and much more) - really unexpected but wonderful surprise - book early though as they are very popular. Very close to the Royal Dicks Vet Hospital which is why we were there. Local folks all super friendly and easy to take to and ask for ideas / suggestions of where to go. Easy to get to Edinburgh and beyond by bus and wonderful places to explore by car and head to the coast on the East too. We also spent a little time in North Berrick, Collinton and Linlithgow which we also liked. Beach walks at Yellowcraig and Country Walks also at Beecraigs (this place was vast and beautiful!
We were upgraded to a more superior room as it had a shower instead of a bath/shower. It was a very very large bedroom with a four poster bed and huge windows side and front. Nice modern furniture and comfy bed.
There was no breakfast included in the price of the room, so we had to go into the cafe which was part of the guest house. Choices on the menu were poor and expensive but the staff were very cheerful and obliging. The location was central for most places especially Roslin Chapel which was just down the road.
The property was amazing it had everything you needed and more. The host were so nice friendly and easy to contact if you needed anything. The kids especially enjoyed been taking to see the horses and lambs on the farm. The bed was so comfortable the kids named it the cloud. we would definitely stay again. we visited Roslin glen and spend the day there in the sunshine was so beautiful. The whole area was absolutely beautiful
It’s a historic building, in a historic area, with its own interesting past. The old elements are charming and as expected, the food is great and there are little touches which show a direction for other hotels, such as the QR codes. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and could not have done more to make our, albeit brief, stay better.
luxury accommodation- like a hotel but with all the benefits of a home that you can come and go as you please.
Well thought out- everything we needed was there and more.
comfortable beds and lovely fluffy towels great shower.
Good eating places within walking distance.
Easy to catch bus into Edinburgh.
Lots to do in the area nearby.
