Hospitality could not be faulted.. we were made very welcome from beginning to end.
Slight issue with the tv was sorted in minutes with the minimum of fuss.
Great chat and banter with some old locals in the bar who also made us feel very welcome.
Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and exceptional.

We actually spent most of our time outside Rhymney, so didn't form a detailed impression of it. It is easy enough to get to and from when visiting other sites in the Brecon Beacons. We were pleased to find a takeaway and a petrol station

I did not really stay in Rhymney.
I did not really stay in Rhymney. I had to walk from the railway station to the hotel in Princetown. The views of the countryside were interesting, although it was drizzling on the arrival day. I got some rambling done, in the nearby industrial estate, a nature reserve and in Tredegar. It's a lovely area. Worth visiting. The buses run on Saturdays and weekdays, if you do not drive. I did not have enough time to go rambling thoroughly in the nearby hills . Luckily, I will be moving to the area.

Staff were very welcoming and accommodated all of our needs (two vegans and we were both so grateful of the effort the staff put in to accommodate this when cooking our breakfast!). Hotel was absolutely worth the price- clean and modern rooms and breakfast included, couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for our trip to Wales!
There was a great friendly atmosphere at the place reflected by the care and attention for the guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our generous breakfast and thought it was excellent value for what we got. We can only warmly recommend the Lord Nelson Hotel.
Lovely little quaint hotel and extremely quiet. Staff amazing and provide a very personal touch. Bedroom spotlessly clean albeit a little old fashioned, but very comfortable and I had an amazing night's sleep
The hotel has great staff and easy access. Free parking is available onsite. The room is clean and spacious, with a large bathroom. The breakfast is outstanding!
