The room was full of character, and very comfortable. Despite one of the coldest nights of the year the room was comfortably warm. Timothy Taylor on tap with a warm delicious meal to match.

The village of Reeth is a delightful part of the upper Dales.
We visited the CB pub on the way in from Scotland, highly recommend a pint there.
We also visited the Tarn Hill pub, unfortunately not such a great experience.
We also went to the Thursday evening working sheep dog show near Hawes- an ABSOLUTE MUST for those who are interested.
Stay at number 4 Alpine Cottages- Tracey is fantastic and helpful.

Reeth is an excellent base for walking and cycling.
Reeth is an excellent base for walking and cycling. Dales cycle centre in Grinton hire bikes by the day or half day. If self catering there is a well stocked general store and a bakery in the centre. There are also great options for eating out for lunch or evening meals both in Reeth, or in Grinton a short walk away.

Fond a a lovely little cafe/hotel in Twaite for lunch and in the evening we ate in the Bridge at Grinton which had a fantastic atmosphere. Lots of dogs , children and locals enjoying a pint. Good log fire was appreciated as the weather was dreary.

A quiet typically Swaledale market town.
A quiet typically Swaledale market town. Great small shop, well thought out with post office and gifts. Also paper shop and great pubs. A good base to walk from and accessible drives/walks through Swaledale along the valley or up and over. Wensleydale is a short drive over and the Buttertubs Pass is spectacular. Gorgeous 18th century town of Richmond is to hand and well worth a visit. Cannot recommend Reeth highly enough to serious walkers, strollers or sightseers. Incredible views of the dales and friendly Yorkshire people.
