Lovely little apartment, had everything we needed and was spotless. The owners were really pleasant and made us feel welcome. Would definitely recommend it.

Booked a 1 night stay following a family party in one of the hotel’s function rooms. Having booked a room via booking.com at a really good price I was not sure what to expect! Hotel exceeded my expectations considering what I paid for the room! Modern building without much character but very good sized, clean room, crisp white bed linen and plenty of fresh towels. The staff were absolutely delightful and nothing was too much trouble! Breakfast was great; plenty of options; full English to pastries and fruit with plenty of tea and coffee. Parking in the hotel car park was a bonus.
Set amid the shops on Alton's main street "Not to be confused with Alton (the home of Alton Towers) in the Midlands" the Swan Hotel is a historical building that dates back to 1377.

Room was very comfortable, staff were very helpful and the breakfast was made fresh on order each morning, not buffet.syle. The choice of cereal was good very impressed by fresh fruit, strawberries, blue berries and raspberries. The staff were very attentive and coffee and tea was a good standard.
Wonderful for walks and pubs with good food. Although out in the sticks all the towns are just a stones throw away. The rolling hills of Hampshire are a joy to behold. It feels like you have stepped back in time to an era where cars and planes are still to be invented. The steam trains at Alresford are great too and the staff were more than helpful and willing to impart their knowledge. Even allowed me a sneaky peak at the signal box! With Winchester just 30 minutes away and Portsmouth an hour away there is always plenty to do and see.
