The restaurant. Food choices were varied, we stayed 3 nights and enjoyed dinner here every night. Sunday Roast and the Lamb Shank pie are standouts. Service & ambience are good & prices are fair. All staff were helpful and friendly.

Nice, but fairly small room. Kitchen unit only has microwave - something you need to be aware of on Mondays & Tuesdays when the ub is closed. It´s quite a bit outside Winchester, which we didn´t mind though. Lovely village.
Set in a beautiful listed building, the 4-star Woolpack Inn has a creative restaurant and leafy beer garden. It sits in scenic Hampshire countryside, between Winchester and Basingstoke.

The room was comfortable and had good coffee-making facilities. The shower was fine, but the toiletries available were a little basic (only combined body wash/shampoo in a container that was a little difficult to use) - I would expect more for the price. The location is excellent - right in the middle of town.
Wonderful for walks and pubs with good food. Although out in the sticks all the towns are just a stones throw away. The rolling hills of Hampshire are a joy to behold. It feels like you have stepped back in time to an era where cars and planes are still to be invented. The steam trains at Alresford are great too and the staff were more than helpful and willing to impart their knowledge. Even allowed me a sneaky peak at the signal box! With Winchester just 30 minutes away and Portsmouth an hour away there is always plenty to do and see.
