We have stayed in Porthmadog several times, it's a compact town with easy access to all shops and facilities. It's an ideal base for visiting the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways. Portmerion is also nearby. It's a beautiful area close to the mountains and the sea.

    We were visiting family.

We were visiting family. We dined at the Tyddyn Llwyn caravan park. The food, service and general friendliness were all part of an excellent experience. We also visited Portmeirion. Excellent nostalgia for us free men who refuse to be a number.

Porthmadog was a good central location to explore the Llyn Peninsula. Main reason for choice was wanting to be near Portmeirion & the Ffestiniog Steam Railway. Couldn’t find any really nice eateries in & around Porthmadog also very difficult to find places to eat at lunchtime when out & about as most places only provided food from 17:00 onwards

A fabulous two night stay at Portmerion, was amazing and superb in every way, and the hotel dining experience was the best I have ever had, every dish absolutely delicious. We visited Porthmadog by Ffestiniog railway, taking advantage of the 1st Class carriage. Worth every penny.

A small town, not many shops but plenty of choice of supermarkets. Few sit down restaurants, the Sportsman bar and restaurant is recommended with a good choice on the menu. Very close to Portmeirion which is well worth a visit.

Porthmadog itself is a perfectly nice but entirely unremarkable Welsh town, We ended up in Borth y Gest because we couldn't find anything in Port, and I am so glad we did - Borth is a really magical village set around a bay and could not be more beautiful. 20min easy walk into Port if you fancy pubs, 10min the other way to fab sandy beaches. Easy access to all sorts of things like castles and adventure sports (zip lining, Bounce Below, speedboat rides at Menai Bridge) if the weather isn't all that. a great place to spend a week or two with kids.

Very tastefully decorated duplex in a great location in Porthmadog. We had everything we could need right in center of the town with a very short walk to the towns cafes, restaurants, shops and pubs. There were lots of guides on the things to do in the area and the location was also perfect to get to them. Would like to come back in the summer months.

Location was fab close to every where we wanted to go. The fact that it was in a very unique, quaint and picturesque area was even better. There was plenty of space in the Lodge and everything we needed. Hotel restaurant staff were absolutely brilliant at helping to deal with an allergy when ordering food.
