Very handy for the motorway with some excellent walks which are devoid of hills , so accessible for the elderly. The town has all the shops you would need for a holiday stay and several eateries catering for every taste. Children will love the rock pools when the tide is out and fishing takes place at various locations . All in all a reasonably priced holiday can be had by all.

Lovely Welsh holiday resort with large clean beaches...

Lovely Welsh holiday resort with large clean beaches comprising of golden sand for as far as the eye can see. Has a funfair and all the other attractions that one expects in a UK holiday resort. They are currently renovating an Art Deco pavillion which should be well worth a visit when it reopens. There are lots of restaurants, cafes and pubs. Although many of the beach attractions are seasonal Porthcawl is not just a tourist town. People live there, it has a busy town centre and unlike many other UK coastal towns appears thriving and prosperous.

We rode our bikes from the pub we were staying at to Porthcawl - about a 10 min ride. Lovely clean, big sandy beach with donkey/pony rides. Lots of places for food, drinks and ice creams!! We visited a lovely bakery near by too!

    Lovely cute seaside town.

Lovely cute seaside town. A few different beaches to choose from. We liked the coney beach the best. Lots of kids to do. Would definitely be going back. Bonus a nice big Aldi. Which is great if you’re self caring :) but lots of takeaway options . Nice affordable coffee shops over looking the sea. Finnagans chip shop a little expensive but yummy chips :)
