Best Western Aberavon Beach Hotel, hotel in Port Talbot

On the Aberavon beachfront with views across Swansea Bay and Gower Peninsula, the Best Western Aberavon Beach Hotel features a restaurant and bar. There is also free parking and free Wi-Fi.

Well located off the motorway, and on a previous stay we thought it was good value for money (not luxurious but clean and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff). However, we had a very different experience in January when the hotel was very empty with very poor service.

Nice seafront walks and good food reasonably priced at the restaurants, short drive to Swansea and the mumbles.good food at the Front, and for a busy pub restaurant atmosphere the Sand Rabbit was great! - the mixed Grill was a monster!

The location of The Nest is Duffryn, Afan Valley, about 8 miles from Port Talbot itself. The Afan Valley (where I was born) was formerly a coal mining area, part of the South Waes Coalfield. Since the cessation of coal mining, the Valley has returnef almost fully to its firmet state, with few remaining signs of its coal mining past; as a result, the scenery is stunning. The area is a Mecca for cyclists from all over the UK.

    Lovely peaceful location.

Lovely peaceful location. Plenty of places to visit and so close to Cardiff and Swansea but the small towns are pretty, worth a visit. Lots of local amenities and an abundance of good restaurants. Lots of things going on even out of season.

Changed quite a lot over the years.

Changed quite a lot over the years. Plenty shops and resterants , Sumerset Arms do lovely meals and the staff are amazing! My husband recommends the ribs 😋 Port Talbot is easy to get around. We would avoid going to the Twelve Knights the place has really gone down hill since we stayed last year especially the food.

The beach was quiet, hardly anyone on the beach. Friendly people … Not a lot of facilities just a quiet beach and surroundings. Local Chinese was nice and they delivered. Lidl close by and a Macdonalds ..

The hotel looked a little run down on the outside - a bit like the area around it. Inside the hotel, however, it was clear that the staff and the facilities were excellent and everyone was friendly and helpful. The location, beside the park, the promenade and the beach, is wonderful. We found that there was lots to do nearby and we had a lovely time. Food in the hotel (breakfast and dinner) was adequate and there were lovely restaurants and bars close at hand.

Great location up in the hills above Port Talbot. The lodge is at the start of the mountain bike trails and is popular with groups, with a bunk house, glamping and camping. I had a room in the lodge which was very comfortable and clean, giving a wonderful night's sleep. All the staff were very friendly. Food is served at the weekends in the cafe, good hearty outdoorsy food. This isn't a grand hotel and you shouldn't expect it but the location is unbeatable and the staff make you very welcome.

Good location..The hotel restaurant wasn't open during our visit so we couldn't have breakfast there but there were a number of Cafés in the town just 5 minutes walk from the hotel so that was good. Staff were all pretty friendly.

Very little. The staff were friendly but the hotel area needs updating. The rooms are very basic and the main air conditioning for the pub comes off and on all night. The wind whistled through the windows all night.
