We stayed overnight as a prelude to visiting the Emmerdale Village which was a short drive away. We both wished we had stayed for an extra night as Otley has a lot to offer. It was market day on the Saturday and Otley really comes alive at night time with its many pubs and restaurants and is surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.

We didn't stay there very long so didn't get to see much.
It was only an overnight stay on the way to our next destination.
But what we did see was very nice.
Would go back and star longer.

I am biased as my father was born and bred in Otley so it will always be a special place even though we now live a hundred miles away. Otley has beautiful alley ways and guinnels winding through its centre. The river area is wonderful for families and the little independent shops are a treat. Eating out is not a problem and the pubs are numerous. We met some warm and welcoming Yorkshire folk.

OTLEY is a very interesting city.
OTLEY is a very interesting city. Lovely river walks and plenty of historic interest. You can see where Thomas Chippendale, the world famous cabinet maker lived. Also the fascinating Archimedes Screw hydroelectric power plant that used to power the paper mill and now providing electricity to the grid. Lots of restaurants and cafes. Nearby is the Chevin Country Park and Forest walks with spectacular views of OTLEY.

This is a lovely wee place! Check in process was easy and the staff are all super friendly and helpful.
The room was cozy but also light and airy. Comfy bed and plenty of pillows. The shower was good and I loved the Fine Scottish Soaps toiletries - a nice touch. Breakfast was good.
Just a note: the car park is IN the beer garden, not the big Otley Parade car park - this is charged as one of the staff helpfully pointed out to me.
Met at the accommodation and directed straight to our beautiful spacious room, the view was fantastic. The quest house is on the edge of Otley and Ilkley so both towns are easy to drive down to. The breakfast was cooked to order and was lovely. Local tavern was a short walk with a good selection of ales and food. Perfect country parks for walking, can't wait to go back. Everyone made us feel welcome.
location good for Leeds airport. Hotel room small but comfortable; the wall and ceiling seem like log cabin beams! Checking in - reception staff seemed very busy in a long phone conversation. The garden lounge is lovely to relax in (tho a bit cold, in early March). The hotel can do free parking for a pre-flight stay. and there's a back road route to Sentinel car park
Lovely little place right in centre of otley. Great price considering it can sleep up to 4. Really easy to find and very informative welcome guide from the host. We went to a wedding at the Chilli barn which was only a few min taxi ride down the ride. Definitely ideal for staying in Otley.
