We went to Alton Towers and this is the closest hotel to that other than the resort hotel, that’s why we chose it. Little did we know, we were in for a treat! It’s feels old and the Talbot next door is an amazing topping for the cake.

We stayed in one of the outside brick chalets, and spent the evenings in the Inn bar and it was all very pleasant. The Inn itself is full of the charm you would expect, from it’s location in the rolling hills, and both Margaret, the landlady, and the staff were lovely and charming too. Nothing was too much trouble. We intend to return at a future date.
The Dog and Partridge is a 17th-century inn just a 10-minute drive from Alton Towers, located on the edge of the beautiful Peak District with countryside views.

We all thought the rooms needed updating, the one room smelt very muskey, when I booked the rooms it said they were all single beds, but it was 1 single and 1 double bed in each room, the web sight needs changing to be clearer on how the rooms are planned out.
The choice for breakfast was good.

The location is fantastic, just 7 minutes from Alton towers . Was really nice to stay in a house rather than a hotel room . The house has everything you could need . Even some board games which my kids loved . The hosts even left some goodies for when we arrived which was a lovely touch , the kids were straight into the biscuits . Looking forward to returning
