ibis budget Hotel Edinburgh Park, hotel in Edinburgh

An 8-minute drive from Edinburgh Airport, ibis Budget Hotel Edinburgh Park lies just off the City of Edinburgh Bypass and 30 minutes’ walk from Edinburgh Park Train Station.

In general? Everything was ok,nothing amazing but nothing terrible. Room is on the small size (can sleep 3 but you really wouldn't want that...maybe if you had a small child it would be bearable but not 3 adults.) One stool to sit on and a tiny counter to sit at so if you both want to eat a snack or whatever in the room? Take turns or 1 eats on the bed. Location is ok,20 or so minutes on the tram to city centre. Big Morrisons 3 mins walk away for food/snacks - doesn't seem to be much in the way of takeaways/delivery options for food nearby but they serve pizza/sandwiches 24hrs at reception which are okay if stuck for something. For the money it was ok(Given Edinburgh accommodation prices) . Particularly as we wanted our own bathroom - Toilet door is very thin, like a wardrobe door really. It's practically a closet with a toilet in it. So you'll want to be pretty familiar with your travel companions /you will be after anyways... If yis are on the beer & curries? Tell your companion to open a window and take yourself a little 20 min walk. (Better yet - tell them to go do you a favour and go over to the Gyle center everyones sake.) (Nearly everywhere in our budget in Edinburgh was shared bathrooms?Albeit with more central location,I suspect it's due to a lot of the accommodation more central being in older buildings!)

Aberdour Hotel, Stables Rooms & Beer Garden, hotel in Aberdour

A friendly, family-run hotel located in one of Fife's picturesque coastal villages, specializing in fresh fare, using local Scottish produce where possible.

The location was a bit off, and it takes about 40 min till the city center, but at the same time that's also a good thing because the hotel has that small town vibe, breakfast was great and the staff were just amazing

Norton House Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh, hotel in Ingliston

Set in a Victorian mansion in 55 acres of grounds, Norton House features a luxury spa, award-winning restaurant and boutique rooms with free internet.

The spa was very good. It allowed for a relaxing time. Allowing specific children times afforded one the ability to abstain or join during a slightly more raucous period. Overall it was very pleasant.

Room very comfortable and facilities of high standard. The staff were extremely helpful. View of bridge made our stay but traffic noise was constant and may be a problem for light sleepers. The bedroom was far too bright at night. Light under desk and also by the door(probably fire escape regulations and not hotels fault).

We liked the comfort of this hotel , we liked the breathtaking views of The iconic Forth Bridges and I would happily return and recommend to others. It was worth paying extra for a room with river view even though we did not go for the most expensive.

Excellent stay, lovely hotel, met up with family. We had been there before but for first time guests may be difficult to find hotel unless they have all modern technology! Minor point as everything else was great. Thanks

It's a small town with a few sights but nothing to really write home about... - with one exception. "The Wee Restaurant" is an absolute MUST to dine at: one of the best ribeye steaks I ever had in my life!

Great location, very calm neighborhood; great place to stay when you want to visit Edinburgh - train station is in walking distance or the bus station is around 2km (it has free parking and there are several buses each hour that take you to the center of Edinburgh). Good to save some time to visit the North Queensferry as well - it has interesting history and very nice coastal path that brings you to a beach. Beautifull views on the three bridges (each built in a different century ;-)
