The Nines, hotel in Bangor

No lifts within the hotel. We have only stairs so please note when making a booking. The Nines is an iconic City Centre hotel located at 10-12 Seacliff Road in Bangor.

Good choice available on the breakfast menu. Full fry was very tasty as were the panckes with bacon and maple syrup. We also had dinner on both nights and food is amazing. However tops marks go to the staff, they were all so friendly, helpfull and cheerfull.

Newtownards isn’t the prettiest of places but it was well placed for what we required. Handy for Belfast City, but also well placed for visits to places like Newcastle, Bangor, Killyleagh, Strangford Loch.

Being back in Newtownards, my home town was especially great, but the stay in the Strangford was exceptional, staff service and food was excellent, and the room was extremely clean and the service staff were very helpful. I would recommend the Strangford Arms Hotel in Newtownards to anyone and everyone. Well done Ards!!!!

We arrived late and left early. Didn’t have time to look around the town. We chose Newtownards for its location from where we would be visiting local attractions the next day and the hotel as the best of a small choice.

Newtownards, while not obviously a beautiful town, has interesting and historic elements. Its position near Belfast, lovely Strangford Lough and magnificent National Trust property Mountstewart is a bonus. We enjoyed drinks and food in the Parlour (formerly known as the Old Cross). There were other interesting looking bars/restaurants which we unfortunately did not have time to explore.

Louise was so kind and welcoming during the entire stay. She was so helpful in giving us tips and things to do during our time in Northern Ireland as well and was checking in on us to make sure we didn’t need anything. Breakfast was great and there was a very nice area to hangout in during the evenings. Clean, nice place to stay, so much better than a big chain hotel!

This is the third time we have stayed at this property. It is always very clean, and the owner is always friendly and helpful. It is very handy for the Newtownards area, and has everything you need for a short stay.
