No breakfast available. The rooms were much too small for large beds. No place to put luggage. Shower could have been a little cleaner.
Set within Cairngorm National Park, the Highlander Hotel is set in the village of Newtonmore.

Both rooms we had were spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the gentleman on reception who sorted an issue for me. And it was excellent value for money.
Set in Newtonmore, Clune House B&B has 3 en-suite guest bedrooms. All have flat-screen TVs and a tea and coffee tray. Each room comes with ample wardrobe space and a desk.

Lovely location with great views. The play area was perfect for our little one and lots of space to exercise our dog too.

The beds were very comfortable and the view from the hut was excellent. It was ideally suited for our needs as a single parent with a teenager requiring a short stay with just a bed for the nights as we were out all day. 2 people we encountered were friendly.
Well supplied with tea and coffee etc.

A very comfortable stay and exactly what we were looking for with a last minute stay. Felt very homey and the location and views were beautiful. The sheep and sheepdog puppies were also adorable!
Situated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, one of the last truly unspoilt parts of the world., the hotel looks out across the picturesque Spey Valley to the 18th century Ruthven Barracks

Lot of character to this old hotel and the evening entertainment was a fun experience in the ballroom. Handy for small town and railway station.

Newtonmore is a small village with little to offer in the way of shops, etc. The speed limit in towne center is much too fast to afford safe pedestrian crossing of Main Street and the thru traffic is heavy for such a small town. The crown jewel of Newtonmore by far is the Balavil Hotel; the accommodations are warm and comfortable, the staff is top notch and the food is superb.

Well appointed hotel complex.
Well appointed hotel complex. Our room was in the Annexe and very well furnished for short stay visitors. Very clean and fresh. Garden and surrounding areas well maintained and seating areas provided should the weather be favourable.
We opted to eat in the hotel for Dinner and were not disappointed. Service was first class and food standards were excellent.
Areas arund Newtonmore very accessible from the A9 and east through Kincraig to Aviemore was pictuesque. Lots to see and do, very vibrant area within 15 mile radius.
Avoid coming through Perth as road Duelling on A9 is causing significant delays. approach from the south easier through Crieff and join A9 at Dunkeld- free run from there.

Newtonmore is an excellent base for a stay in the highlands.
Newtonmore is an excellent base for a stay in the highlands. Without the business of Aviemore easy access to the Highland Wildlife Park and Highland Folk Museum and if you feel the need for something to do that all ages can take part in there's the Wildcat Walking Tour. A selection of eating places but if fast food is your thing maybe not for you.

Lovely village to stay in for touring this area of Scotland.
Lovely village to stay in for touring this area of Scotland. Golf course and beautiful river side walks. Easy access to A9 for travelling further afield. The Glen Pub at the edge of the village is a must - very friendly welcome and service and stunning food. Co-op in the village for those needing groceries etc. on a self-catering holiday. If you stay in this area I recommend a visit to a fantastic coffee shop in Kincraig called The Post Office Cafe Gallery.
Overall the room and the bathroom were good. The bed was confortable and the room spacious and pleasant.
The reception area was a nice cosy area. The breakfast room was also a pleasant space with a nice view. The hotel location and surroundings were great and quiet for those who wish to explore around the highland mountains.
The staff members were friendly and polite.
Easy to find, beautifully furnished and decorated, with fittings of a high standard. Excellent shower and wi-fi. The hosts go to a great deal of trouble to give the guests a special experience, especially with breakfast and the complimentary tea & cake. Newtonmore is a pleasant village with a convenient Co-op store and good pub (the Glen Hotel).
Good bar, restaurant and pool. Nicely decorated and the staff are all lovely. Bedrooms had tea and coffee available and were fairly spacious with a clean and well supplied bathroom. We watched the football in the back bar which is the type of local hotel lounge bar you don't see much anymore. It was ace.
