Lovely staff, homely down to earth pub, restaurant with rooms in a gorgeous quiet village but not remote. Fantastic view from Rm3 across Coquetvale/River Coquet to the hills/moors across the valley. Relaxing walk along the river. Even the locals in the pub were welcoming. The bed was gloriously comfortable too.
A beautiful relaxing peaceful small town. Discovered it at least 40 years ago and still go back for my fix!!! Near by Crag Side which is well worth a visit. A few eaterys including Italian all good. Lovely riverside walks

Well worth a visit even if just passing through.
Well worth a visit even if just passing through. We ate at The Turks Head and the food was lovely. There are a few shops to potter around, free parking, independent butchers and bakers. A fabulous discounted shoe shop and an antiques/curiosity shop.

Rothbury is a pretty village in Northumberland.
Rothbury is a pretty village in Northumberland. There are a number of good independent shops. Being knitters, my daughter and I particularly like Rainbow Yarns, There are also nice gift shops, an antique shop, dress shop and a bakery selling huge filled rolls and yummy cakes. There are pleasant walks along the river, good for dogs. There are 3 hotels all doing decent pub grub - our favourite was the Turk's Head. There is also a good pizza carry out restaurant and a chippie. Rothbury is small enough to walk around, but be aware it is quite hilly.
Rothbury is fairly central for exploring the area; we visited Lindisfarne, Chesters Roman Fort and the North of England Open Air Museum at Beamish among other places.

The cottage was cosy & warm, well equipped and very comfortable. It was beautifully decorated and had everything you could possibly need, plus a welcome pack which included a bottle of wine. Thank you Sally.
Rothbury is lovely, with little independent gift shops, bakeries & delis and we had very reasonable & delicious meals at La Mensa and the Newcastle House Hotel. We visited beautiful Cragside and had some lovely walks too.
Would definitely recommend The Old Telephone Exchange and would like to return soon.
Modern stone cottage built to an exceptionally high standard by the owner. Very well equipped with comfortable contemporary furniture and everything a party of 8 could need. Panoramic views over the adjacent golf course towards the quaint town of Rothbury. The owners were very welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. We will definitely be back.
The property is in a great location for visiting many areas around Northumberland. The apartment itself was beautiful and in a really convenient spot in Rothbury. It was super clean and comfortable.
