The welcoming staff on arrival & the friendly locals we were made to feel very welcomed.
The rooms are immaculately clean & decorated to a high standard with toiletries in the bathroom. Complimentary of tea, coffee & biscuits. Nice touch having a small fridge & hairdryer in the room.. In the main hallway, a small kitchen for guests to use, microwave, toaster, plates & cutlery, also iron, etc.
Well stocked corner shop across the road & Sainsbury's or Morrison's down the road a few minutes drive away.

In a peaceful, rural location, this country house was originally built in 1845. Today, the house has been converted into a luxurious privately owned hotel with many beautiful original features.

Picked this accommodation as it was close to where I was working. The rooms are very well refurbished and comfortable and clean. There is a small kitchen for guests to use and a fridge and hospitality tray in the room. Good quality tea, coffee, hot chocolate and water provided. Check-in was easy and secure. Chris the manager is very helpful. The pub does not provide food but suggestions are in the information pack. Any music in the pub downstairs finishes at 10pm. Good value for money!

Not much to do here and fairly run down like any other city in the Midlands, but have enough facilities if you visit nearby places like Trentham Garden or Keele University.
Fairly good connection by bus and private vehicle, but a bit difficult to arrive by train (need to arrive at Stoke-on Trent station and need a bit of bus ride).

Liked There was everything you needed at hand .... the kitchen was small but compact , there was cutlery , frying pan , pan and plates microwave, hob ... tea , coffee and sugar but NO milk had to go shop down the road and buy it. Reason was because of covid , but all other hotels I've stayed does provide this ... bathroom small but convenient, shower basin wasn't cleaned ! Small sofa was fairly comfortable... THE BIGGEST ISSUE WAS THE BED . WAS 2 SINGLES PUSHED TOGETHER, very shocking and a bit dangerous I thought , there was a big gap in the middle , i love to toss and turn at night but kept waking up so didnt get hardly any sleep for my 2 night stay . my boyfriend who lives near by ended up going home instead !! There was no where to eat on sight either , I will not be using this hotel again ....

Very well organised and a nice welcome on our arrival.
Very well organised and a nice welcome on our arrival. Key code access to allocated areas. Friendly and helpful staff. Large room, nice facilities, very decent bathroom (large), with corner bath and shower (great pressure), and plenty of hot water. Fridge (with cold milk supplied - nice touch), and a courtesy tray with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, sugars and sweeteners. Would highly recommend, fairly priced and well worth the money. Will definitely stay again, should the occasion arise.

It's a lovely little town.
It's a lovely little town. Beautiful flower baskets and little craft stalls on weekends. It felt safe. Well maintained parks and recreation areas. A good selection of shops and restaurants. Overall, it is a relaxing town.
There are homeless people begging, but they're not aggressive the way they are in other towns.

We stayed Monday night we went out for food and a look around the town most food places were already closed. Including McDonald’s and the ones that were open didn’t serve food after 9pm which is an average time. We did find a little Italian restaurant which was ok, loverly little place but the pasta and sauces dishes weren’t homemade from scratch. My daughter said dolmio has more flavor lol.

The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Sophie at the bar checked us in and showed us around. The hotel uses a code system on the door so you aren’t carrying around a key or code. There were plenty of teas and coffees in the room.
The location is good in terms of it being in Newcastle under lyme and there is parking. Nothing else about this place is positive, it was dirty and unclean.
