Old North Inn Hotel, Inverness, hotel in Muir of Ord

Located just 7 miles from the city of Inverness, Old North Inn Hotel, Inverness is just a 20-minute from the famous Loch Ness and Culloden Battlefield.

I recently stayed at the Old North Inn Hotel and found it to be a comfortable place with several positive aspects. The hotel has a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, making the check-in process smooth and pleasant. The facilities are good, with clean and comfortable rooms and decent amenities that cater to basic needs. The common areas are well-maintained, providing a nice environment for relaxation. However, I found the hotel to be a bit pricey for what it offers. While the experience was generally positive, the cost felt a bit high compared to similar options available in the area. Overall, the Old North Inn Hotel is a convenient choice with a warm welcome and good facilities, but it may not offer the best value for the price.

The National Hotel, hotel in Muir of Ord

Set in Dingwall, 23 km from Inverness Castle, The National Hotel offers accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar.

The location was good as we were travelling every day. The staff were friendly. The Stag Bar was very good and had gluten free options. Our room 110 was clean but dated. Dingwall has plenty of places to go out and eat. The hotel has a large car park at the back.

Our family trip to the Scottish Highlands happened very last moment in the Peak season -July. All hotels and apartments were pretty much booked or available at horrendously high prices. This property showed up in my search as an affordable option. To be honest we were not even sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised to find a neat and cosy cottage with clean and modern set up. Would highly recommend to go for this property if you have access to your own transport. The property does not serve breakfast but I was told there are cafes nearby that do. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I would surely consider going back to the same hotel again.

It was lovely ,well presented and just like the pictures online.Nice terrace to sit on. Nice friendly welcome from the host. Bed was very comfortable we slept very well. Shower was good. And the whole chalet was spotlessly clean. We were attending an event in Inverness so only a short journey away and much more peaceful and much less expensive than in town. And a safe space to park your car.

There are 4 local walks starting from the square. Each takes you to a different type of countryside eg down to the sea to watch seals,up a hill to see lovely views, along the old railway line and through lovely woods and along quiet roads. It is only 2.5 miles to Beauly and there is a pavement all the way so we walked there and had lunch in a pub there and wandered round the shops. We drove to Chanonry Point to look out for the dolphins. We didn’t see any but enjoyed the beach and watching the people coming and going.

Ideal for visiting nearby family on black isle and nairn. 10 minutes by car to Inverness. Lots of places to visit in the area. Chalet was immaculate inside and outside was being repainted. Enclosed garden for dogs. Andrew was very helpful on arrival and couldn't do enough to make the stay more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend and return.

Muir of Ord is situated well to be used as a base to visit The Highlands. It has access to Main roads north and south with the Black Isle on doorstep. A few eateries and carry out places will keep the hunger at bay. Nice friendly folk always keen to speak to you.

    Cannot fault this lovely property.

Cannot fault this lovely property. Every room is beautiful and very carefully planned. Loved the kitchen/ diner and loved using the AGA. The bedrooms are all spacious and very comfortable, the bathrooms all have great showers and lovely views . The outside space is great, we didn’t use the bbq and pizza oven but would imagine it’s great to use in the warmer weather. The hot tub was great too. The house is located near the distillery with lovely views front and back.

Fantastic and well equipt studio apartment with all you need to cook and relax. Excellent walking distance into Muir of Ord and the show ground (about 20mins walk to the show ground), so excellent for events. Wifi included and will work best when seated closer to the main house. Washing machine and heated towel rail are excellent additions. Owners welcoming and friendly.. I'll send up some drainage mats next time I see them in Aldi - so sorry!

Gorgeous location. Easy parking. Delicious breakfast and great local dining at the Priory Hotel. Dougie and his son Cameron were great hosts whilst Linda cooked an amazing breakfast that included warm scones which we took away for the journey (couldn't wait for tea break!). A bit of info in the room would have been good such as how to log on to wifi and places to eat out. A 10 rated establishment none the less.

Brian and his wife (the owners of the Ord Arms) created a great atmosphere and Provided us with a great breakfast and as a real bonus to us Brian gave us a lift from the hotel to the Black Isle Showground which saved us a considerable walk and we also enjoyed the famous Black Isle Show, best regards, Norman Masson & Olive Scott.

A lovely find in the woods close to Muir of Ord. Great value for money and within easy reach of many sights such as Loch Ness, Channory Point (for dolphins) and even Skye. We took the executive room, which was great and roomy.
