The owners are very friendly and helpful. The room was cosy and done up to a high standard. Milo the dog is super cute and playful. Cooked breakfast was excellent. Even the complimentary breakfast bar in the room was great. Would definitely recommend for a stay to anyone!

I liked the secluded location and the stars at night were amazing 🤩. The Runaway is cosy and compact but had everything we needed for our overnight stay. We ate out but there was a microwave for cooking and a picnic table outside for warmer weather eating outside the hut.
There was a lovely welcome tray with biscuits, sweets and drinks, tea and coffee were also provided.
The bed was comfy and we were nice and warm. No TV but we were happy listening to music from our phones on the Bluetooth speaker provided. There were also board games to play but we were happy reading. A great getaway.
The average price per night for a 3-star hotel in Morpeth this weekend is $180 or, for a 4-star hotel, $428. Looking for something even fancier? 5-star hotels in Morpeth for this weekend cost around $491 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).

What a charming place, so clean, interesting shops and gorgeous eating places everywhere. Lovely shopping mall and nicely tiled, very charming. So impressed that we even looked at house prices which to our delight are very reasonable... from our holiday in Northbumberland this year, Morpeth is our favourite town that we visited, just the right size.

Morpeth for us is a relaxing place to go and it's riverside and forest walk are ideal. It isn't great for places to eat if you are there for 7 days but we were self catering so not such a problem, we could find places to go out to eat for half the 7 days, but not the full 7 days. We love Lollo Roso but the meals are far to large for us to have 3 courses, a shame or go every night. We prefered to go To the Premier Inn restuarant at Ashington. where you get variety at a reasonable price.

We did part of the Northumberland Coastal walk (Cresswell to Dunstanburgh) and found the locals to be very friendly. Lots of free car parks near the coast, very well sign posted and plenty of benches.

Came for the Northumbrian Gathering.
Came for the Northumbrian Gathering. It's a great event if you like folk music and dancing. Lots of local culture. Talented artists. And the town itself is very attractive. It is small enough to park and walk to all places of interest.

Leisure Centre would be good for families.

Secret Cottage, Morpeth (Host: Alex) Morpeth was fine but accommodation and host not so good. Reported a major fault (no lighting in the main bathroom) this was not repaired during stay and to add insult to injury the host lied about everything in response to my review of Booking.com. Please don't trust this host or give him any of your hard-earned cash as he doesn't deserve the business. He was totally unsympathetic and had a terrible attitude. He said "go ahead and report to Booking.com because at the end of the day it is up to the host if a refund is given". AVOID THIS HOST!
Great location, 5 min walk crossing the river into characterful Morpeth town center, with it's mixture of historic buildings & modern shops plus traditional pubs & restaurants.
Carlisle park was five minute walk away too. Pretty riverside walk.
We used the house to visit the Northumberland coastline & famous castles.
The house is on a very attractive, very quiet street.
All the meals we had where good & the service was also good. We find it hard to find the hotel but the staff where all very good, room was good & a good size.
