Although it was the beginning of June it was obvious Morecambe's season had not yet started. On the Monday everything was shut - so we went to Lancaster instead. On the Tuesday some seafront shops/cafes were open but not many. In the good weather the walk along the promenade and jetties was great and it was very interesting to see the tidal changes.

The town is lovely. The people were friendly and helpful. The beach is really nice, clean and atractive. There are a variety of shops, cafes and bars. There is a lovely indoor market with a good selection of stalls. The only thing we didn't like were the car parks. There are plenty of car parks but they are very expensive. It cost us a fortune to park up every day.

We visited Hesham and I would highly recommend this as a day out. The town is like many others and a bit tired and the great old Showrooms are no longer in use. The current best features are the great beaches and the Promenade. If you like fresh air and the sea you will love it here.

I was disappointed with Morecambe because it’s very rundown with lots of closed down businesses and rather shabby looking. It’s a shame because it could be a thriving seafront. The seafront itself is long and well kept just the shops and buildings are not very attractive.

The beaches are graded so that dog owners and children do not have to mix. There is a lovely sandy beach. Clearly the town has seen better days but so much effort has gone into providing such a lovely promenade and other amenities that a few more tourists would raise the profile of the seafront shops. There is a wealth of accommodation for all pockets in the town so it would be a shame not to take advantage of it.

We were only stopping over at Morecambe to facilitate a rental car return the following day. It was a great place to stop for 12 hours. I don't know if we would have stopped longer by choice if we had the option but it seemed a great place for families with kids. There is a nice walk along the beachfront and a statue of Eric Morecambe. There are lots of pubs and restaurants to choose from as well.

Nice view, quiet location, very clean and comfortable room. The food served in the hotel restaurant was excellent. The self check in/out is very convenient and any questions I had were quickly answered online ( via Booking.com ). We were in Morecambe for an evening event and had brought a dog with us ( I have a camera so that I can see he’s behaving via my phone ) so needed somewhere that could accommodate him. We left him in the room whilst we ate, but there are tables outside that I guess he could have sat with us at.

Exceptionally spotless, room extremely comfortable. Hosts, Trudie and Alan extremely friendly and professional, could not do enough and would go out of their way to help you. Alan and Trudie extremely polite and made you feel like at home, nothing was a bother or hassle to them. Location absolutely fabulous, overlooking Morecambe Bay, and near the town. The room was small, but the view across Morecambe Bay to the mountains was wonderful. We thought the staff members were all lovely. They were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. It was great to be able to store our bicycles in an empty room near Reception. The breakfast was good - ample and with plenty of choice and good coffee. We cycled each day, starting on the cycle path just yards from the hotel, on the promenade.

Couldn't fault the staff, the room, the food. Excellent especially for gluten free requirements. Highly recommend. Fantastic value for money. We stayed in Morecambe so we could go to the theatre in Lancaster and have a walk along the prom the next day. Wonderful childhood memories came flooding back. Would definitely stay here again.
