We didn’t stay at this property as I had a phone call the day before to say that they had had a leak in the rooms but that we could stay at their sister hotel down the road. Blancos. We have stayed at Blancos before so we didn’t mind at all, especially cos we were upgraded.

This was my second stay at the Rose and Crown, 11 nights this time. I chose to stay there again because:
1) the staff are outstanding, friendly and helpful at all times
2) the pub maintains its old-world charm while offering comfortable accommodation
3) the location is excellent if you like staying in an ancient, historic village. It's right across from the village green.
4) the food is excellent
5) the credentials of the pub are obvious: not only is the accommodation fully booked at times, but the pub itself is very well patronised by the locals for meals (also fully booked at times) and pub services, and the village green is also well-used by the locals. It is clearly a hub for the locals in this very charming village where there there are other pubs serving meals.
6) the staff were all very kind to me when I had a brush with the C virus

The room was clean, cosy and warm. The facilities within that room were par excellence. Microwave, quality fridge, safe, coffee making, fan for summer weather. Quality bed and pillows.
It was in a perfect location for attending a wedding at Margam Country Park. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The room was great and the breakfast plentiful. It was lovely to see all the animals - hens, ducks, geese, sheep, turkeys, pigs etc!

Good sized rooms, nice bathrooms, decent help yourself style breakfast in the morning.
