Lovely location. Felt very rural but close to the facilities in the village. Liked the kitchen being a separate room.

Stumbled upon a harvest festival market with amazing food and drinks stands. A cute speakeasy called the Library provided locally sourced drinks and the hotel/pub down the road was well worth a visit.

Lovely small town atmosphere and location with some fabulous places to eat. Within easy reach of Scarborough and closer attractive places such as Pickering, Thirsk and Thornton-le-Dale. The only downside to Malton itself is that many shops, eateries & bars etc. do not open on Mondays and many close early midweek at either 5pm or 9:30pm at the latest?

Wonderful range of independent shops, and cafes.
Wonderful range of independent shops, and cafes. Leonis coffee shop was one of many excellent places to eat/drink. Captain Barneys provides great facilities for the younger members, especially if the weather is not ideal. Free parking for 2 hours in the market place area - good luck finding a free space, but there is a large car park 5 minutes from the centre of Malton - prices not ridiculous.

It was nice to have streets not taken up with many charity shops which seems to be the trend in other areas.
Plenty of places to eat as long as you don't leave it too late.
People are very warm and welcoming.
Electric vehicle owners beware. Although some charge points are available they are scarce and had to charge in the evening to ensure enough charge for the next. Being in a rural area, having more charge points would have taken some of the extra planning and anxiety away and made the visit totally enjoyable.
Went to the market but only 3 stalls set up. I suppose that's a reflection of today's economy.
Overall, we loved Malton and will use it has a base to visit other areas of North Yorkshire

The Talbot Hotel. This Historic building is very well attired, appropriately styled and decorated throughout . Our room was spacious , clean and well facilitated . We were very impressed with the quality of Breakfast, evening meals, and enjoyed pleasant evening's in the Bar. The Staff were exceptionally helpful and very accommodating, making our stay warm and welcoming . The location of this Hotel is also Ideal for walking and discovering the Town, its history. artisan shops. Also the outlying Villages and places of interest.
Malton is such a beautiful setting and the hotel building is amazing, as are the views. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We would have loved to have had a drink in the bar but our little boy was tired from his day at Flamingo Land so we ordered take away and had an early night. The breakfast was delicious!!!
The apartment is in a good location in Malton within walking distance to the local bars and restaurants.
The apartment was well equipped and had everything we needed for a two night stay.
The apartment is in walking distance to the railway station and we got the train to York for an evening out
Lovely room, nicely decorated, not the usual boring magnolia paint job. The bed was very comfy and we had a great night's sleep with no noise from the pub below. Great pizza and good breakfast. Handy location for York and North Yorkshire. Bus stop on the doorstep.
The old lodge itself was really pretty, the gardens and outside seating area was good. Location ideal for all of Malton. The breakfast was good and fresh.
