Blue Ball Inn, hotel in Lynmouth

The Blue Ball Inn is located in the north of Exmoor National Park, 550 yards from the sea. It offers home-cooked food, a traditional pub and rooms with countryside views.

The Blue Ball Inn is wonderfully restored and managed to provide the best of its history while keeping guests comfortable. The location is specifically good for walkers with a variety of options available and walk directions provided for guests. This is a unique location for an experience of a wonderful old building in an interesting part of Cornwall. Rooms are well appointed and quiet. The meal choice, quality and pleasantness of service is consistently of very high standard. I am particularly impressed with the care and efficiency of reception staff members when a payment mistake was made and I needed their assistance after I'd returned to my home country. Their resolution of this problem was quickly resolved, very appreciated and demonstrated the professionalism of their approach.

    Very quaint.

Very quaint. It is known as Little Switzerland and certainly lives up to that name. We ate at our hotel The Rock House and at The Village Inn. Also breakfast one morning at The Rising Sun (sister hotel of The Rock House.)Everything is within walking distance. All the shops are gift shops or food outlets. Nearest small supermarkets are up in Lynton, easily accessed by the Cliff Railway. There are no Banks, Post Office or ATMs in Lynmouth. Most pubs and hotels only accept card payments.

We first came here 46 years ago on honeymoon so it was great to come back again for our anniversary (we have visited several times over the years) and not much has changed. It is still beautiful, friendly, quiet and a place we will return to again.

A great place to relax and enjoy the area.A good selection of bars and restaurants but yo need to go into Linton for grocery or pharmacist. Dog friendly with plenty of parking. The tourist office bear the harbour will give good advice how to spend your time depending on your preferences and mobility. We plan to return in the late autumn.

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful weeks stay at this beautiful hotel. Sarah and Katherine are fantastic hosts and made us so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Our lovely room (junior suite) was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The food at the Bayview Restaurant was superb. Sarah is a wonderful chef and uses only local, fresh ingredients. We enjoyed it so much we didn’t need to eat anywhere else. And did I mention Katherine makes a mean G & T. We would highly recommend The Bonnicott.

Very comfortable bed and newly renovated bathroom. Although my bedroom didn't have a seaview, the hotel was perfectly situated by the Lynmouth's harbour. I was able to park for free outside the hotel until midday the following day. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was delicious.
