Great location near the ferry to Oban! Very good breakfasts and the restaurant on the property served amazing food at reasonable prices and their wine list was great, too. Mathew was very knowledgeable about the wines and a terrific host for dinners. The beds were comfortable and really nice bathroom and shower!

The house was super cosy, felt like visiting someone we knew... :-) The owner was very, very kind and made us feel welcomed which added extra "at home" feeling. The view was amazing day and night - enjoyed the meteor shower from the porch and even from bedroom windows! Definitely want to come back.

Ballimackillichan Croft, hotel in Isle of Lismore

Set in Isle of Lismore in the Argyll and Bute region, Ballimackillichan Croft features a patio. The property has sea and mountain views.

Literally can’t wait to return again Sarah and Yorick are wonderful hosts. We were made so welcome, and completely pampered with the delicious food, hospitality, music and home comforts. The Croft is an absolute must for anyone visiting this lovely island, with breathtaking walks and views in every direction and a gorgeous room to come home to! I loved feeding the Shetland sheep, and even came home with enough wool to knit several pairs of socks!

It was a comfortable place to stay.

It was a comfortable place to stay. Although in a quiet location there is an excellent fine dining restaurant close by and the village community hub has a good cafe and filling station. Our purpose was to visit the nearby gardens at Ardtornish which we found a little disappointing and without colour. Later in the autumn might have been better, or when rhododendrons in bloom.

House was clean and well presented.

House was clean and well presented. The view was stunning in all weathers! Host could perhaps add curtains as blinds were too thin so very early wake ups when daylight shines in. This didn’t bother me but did annoy some of our group. Cottage is for 6 but only seating for 4 comfortably in the sitting room, 1 - 2 seater sofa and 2 armchairs could improve on this as there is space for more. Location like much of Scotland is struggling since leaving EU/ covid and lacks much options for a nice family evening meal. Community hub was fantastic for lunches but local white watch hotel was too “fancy” for a family to enjoy. Lochalin hotel will hopefully open in the future for evening meals but not operating currently. Driving is essential, and using the ferry daily to Mull for much of our activities was great but future guest need to be happy and aware of this. Mull is beautiful but roads are very narrow and food choices are limited to some nice cafes but we found the service in pubs/restaurants to be poor compared to other Scottish islands. 4 nights was enough for us and I don’t think we would need to come back again.
