Breakfast was good. Location was good. Fine old house, our first with a four poster bed. We were walking the 870-mile Wales Coast Path, finished now. Paula was very friendly.

Perfect location, although finding the Studio was not easy in a village of beautiful lanes. Walking through the churchyard to the pub, was delightful. Peaceful and very quiet. Perfect place to recharge batteries!

Our host Lynne was extremely friendly and welcoming, and she went beyond our expectations to meet our requests. The residence is a magnificent restored home set in beautiful grounds and it was a delight to experience. We would return without hesitation if we were in that area again.

Llantwit Major is a small town with a good mixture of shops and other facilities. There are a number of restaurants and pubs. Food on Sunday evenings was take-away only in September.
The town is a mixture of old and new buildings.
The picturesque coast and beach is a 10 minute drive away.

We really, really enjoyed our 1 night stay at The Great House with Paula as our very welcoming host. The whole property is charming and beautifully styled throughout and has a lovely warm, authentic feel. The Great House was immaculately clean and cosy and was even better in reality than the beautiful photos suggested.
We had a private bathroom just a short walk along the corridor which was warm and modern with all the facilities you expect including a great shower.
Breakfast was superb with English breakfast, cereal, toast and yoghurt and berries. Paula even made us a fantastic hot chocolate as we’re both not coffee or tea drinkers.
Wish we had more time to explore the garden and surrounding area more but we will definitely be back to enjoy the lovely welcome and perfect room.
We called back on our way back to collect an item we had left behind and we got the chance to share our happy news with Paula of our engagement and she very kindly gifted us a bottle of Prosecco which was very sweet.
Don’t hesitate to book a stay at The Great House in Llantwit Major. You won’t be disappointed.

Character town but need care over road humps quite leathal so go slow. Couple of great pubs and more original . Had full on meal in The Swan and reasonably priced. Main course more than enough so very reluctantly couldn’t indulge in the sweet. Will be revisiting that is for sure and explore town and walks nearby. Not place if all facilities for young families needed.

Llantwit is a small town with an abundance of watering and dining options that will suit all tastes. A couple of well equipped supermarkets, chemist, trains to Cardiff. The old town is very special and a treat to wander around its narrow roads and explore its nooks and crannies. A couple of good sized free car parks near the train station. Very advisable to use these car parks whenever visiting the town as alternative parking in the narrow lanes is non existent. A couple of ATMs also on scene. Luvelly, often diserted beach, very close by.
Everything about the stay was perfect. The property evoked images of an Historical Britain, the type where if the walls could talk situation. The welcome was warm, the breakfast was delicious and ample and the acceptance of the young children gave a real family feel to my stay. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
Great location for what we wanted. Visiting family. Llantwit Major is a friendly village and close to the sea. The apartment was huge. The bed was very comfortable but would recommend not going to bed before the pub closes especially if there a noisy crowd.
