Fantastic hotel lots of history, lovely comfy bed, warm room,friendly staff. The food was great we had an evening meal here had great service and the included breakfast was lovely cereal and full cooked breakfast buffet. Big free at park and it is right by the river with forest walks nearby. The town is lovely too

The hotel was beyond expectations. The reasonable price, an added bonus. This is a charming, period building, with period furniture. The property is clean and obviously well cared for. There were little (and adorable) touches left in the room (such as a welcome note and "do not disturb" duck!). We also had dinner in their restautrant. The menu contained a courgelously ambitious selection of modern, gourmet fare which was served with decent execution. Where the hotel was a 9 on 10 (and we never give a 10 rating), the dinner served was a 6.5 on 10. It is importnt to acknowledge that we dined during the off-season (winter) and late into the evenng. The staff were all very professional and welcoming.
